#ReleaseTheSnyderCut Fans Are Campaigning For Netflix To Save The Snyderverse For Some Reason

The #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement has taken an odd turn as fans of Zack Snyder's Justice League have started campaigning for Warner Bros. to allow Netflix to take charge of the Snyderverse. Check it out!

Much to the shock of everyone, the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement paid off back in 2021 when Zack Snyder's Justice League was released on HBO Max. The epic four-hour director's cut offered an idea of what the filmmaker had planned for the DCEU before Joss Whedon was enlisted to reshoot his movie, and received a positive response from fans and critics alike.

Now, the DCEU is dead, and a new DCU is being created by DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran. In recent weeks, Henry Cavill has been ousted as Superman, while Dwayne Johnson's time as Black Adam has also ended (rumour has it Gal Gadot could be done as Wonder Woman after Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash too).

Despite that, many fans hope the Snyderverse will live on, and a bizarre new campaign has begun on social media: #SellSnyderVerseToNetflix.

Both that hashtag and #SellZSJLtoNetflix have already created thousands of impressions on Twitter, with the hope being that Netflix would take charge of a separate DCEU slate made up of movies like Snyder's scrapped Justice League sequels and the "Ayer Cut" of 2016's Suicide Squad

Other associated hashtags include #GunnAndSafranOut, #FireJamesGunnAndPeterSafran, and #BoycottWB, so the toxicity surrounding the Snyderverse appears to remain.

Zack Snyder's Justice League being released was a huge win, and while not every fan gets on board with campaigns like this, it's disheartening to see many DC fans unable to get excited about a new slate of interconnected movies. After all, what Gunn and Safran have planned may ultimately rival the scope of the MCU.

Do you think Warner Bros. should #SellSnyderVerseToNetflix?

Ah yes, I want to see DC movies with the Netflix-level of CGI from shows like The Witcher and Wednesday.

Are there any big budget productions on Netflix that have good SFX besides Stranger Things?

@mountainman - no idea. But on the topic of SFX and VFX on tv, I was highly impressed by that of His Dark Materials on HBO.

@bkmeijer1 - HBO is usually good with SFX. I liked the first season of His Dark Materials. I need to watch more.

@mountainman - HBO really still is a stamp of quality for me. On multiple fronts.

As for His Dark Materials, the second season was a bit slow, but the last season was pretty great again.

@bkmeijer1 - I’ll get around to it. I tend to have minimal time to watch things these days and there is an overabundance of content available. It’s been tough to decide what to watch with my minimal TV time.

@mountainman - I totally get that. Luckily not a lot of new shows premiere early in the year, so I can finally catch up on some

@Toecutter - I would like to know what this cult is. How many members. Do they do weekly meetings. Is there a membership fee? Is there a paddling on the ass with a paddle ritual?

But that's the thing, the Snyderverse isn't really dead, until it's officially replaced with something more successful. Apparently everybody love Peacemaker Season 1. It's technically set in the Snyderverse, alongside James Gunn's Suicide Squad movie. Same goes for Aquaman 2, which could possibly end up being another huge hit. Obviously some fans wanna move on to a full-on reboot. But until James Gunn proves that he can actually pull that off successfully, then of course the Snyder fans aren't just gonna go quietly into the night.😂
