KICK-ASS Star Chloë Grace Moretz Says She's "Done" With Playing Hit-Girl
Though there is a Kick-Ass 3 comic book, a third movie instalment was never a sure thing after the sequel's fairly disappointing box office -- but even if it does happen, it sounds like they'll have to replace Hit-Girl! Find out what young Chloë Grace Moretz has to say after the jump.
Despite writer Mark Millar stating that things are "up in the air" as far as a third Kick-Ass movie goes, one of the stars of the previous 2 instalments definitely seems to be erring towards the negative side of things when it comes to the film ever getting made. "Sadly, I think I'm done with the character," Chloë Grace Moretz tells Digital Spy. "Hit-Girl was a very cool character, but I don't think there will be any more movies." The actress blames movie piracy contributing to disappointing box office numbers as the main reason why we likely won't see a Kick-Ass 3. "Kick-Ass 2 was one of the number one pirated movies of the year, but that doesn't help us because we need box office figures. We need to prove to the distributors that we can make money from a third and a fourth movie - but because it didn't do so well, we can't make another one." But this doesn't mean we'll never see Moretz suit up as a superhero again -- on the contrary; it seems she's actively looking at comic books and novels for potential roles in the future. "I try to keep abreast on what's out there and what's being made," she tells the site. "We're getting a lot of source material from books and comics right now, so it's a great place to look."
