Marvel Studios Not Expected To Have A Panel At Comic-Con@Home Virtual Event

Following the news that Warner Bros. will be skipping this month's Comic-Con@Home in favor of DC FanDome, it's now been revealed that Marvel Studios is also expected to sit out the virtual event...

The Comic-Con@Home online convention is scheduled for July 22, but at this rate they'll be lucky if any comic book movie fans bother tuning in.

It's already been confirmed that Warner Bros. will be holding back any news on its DC film projects for the DC FanDome event in August, and we're now hearing that Marvel Studios is also planning to sit out the event.

Deadline has heard that "Marvel is sitting on the sidelines, and that Warner Bros.’ feature side of DC will hold their goods for their own virtual fan confab in August." This is very disappointing for fans hoping for updates on the studio's Phase 4 plans, and we were also looking forward to getting to see more footage from Disney+ Marvel shows such as WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

The event is expected to host over 350 panels with plenty of big-name stars, so it should still be still worth a look - although it's obviously not going to be the same without the usual CBM-related announcements.

Although Marvel has yet to make this official, a full list of panels is expected to be revealed later tonight, so we should find out for sure then. What do you guys think? Will you bother tuning into Comic-Con@Home without a Marvel or DC movie presence?

@kylo0607 - tbf, Marvel has skipped it before pandemic or not. They'd have probably showed up this year though because of Black Widow, ect.

@Nightwing1015 - Not sure if true or not, but if true i've read that Marvel were indeed planning on coming to SDCC 2020 before the pandemic hit, fully intending to show the first trailer/footage for Shang-Chi there and makes sense given they started marketing Black Panther in June/July of 2017, so they could've used this to start the marketing for Shang-Chi had it kept its February 2021 release

I probably wasn't going to tune in anyway. Just wait for the news and announcements to trickle in through everyone else sharing them.

TBH, I probably won't check out anything from Comic-Con@home if Marvel Studios doesn't have a presence. Disappointing but sort of expected. Marvel Studios has already 20 confirmed projects between the films & Disney+. Until something gets released to the public Kevin Feige can't really talk about new projects without spoiling their future plans.

With that said, I can't see Marvel Studios keeping quiet throughout 2020. So hoping when it gets closer to Black Widow opening & F&WS dropping on Disney+, Marvel Studios will be able to release new information. Because as fans themselves, they know this period of no news is torture to fans of the MCU.

@String - I am sure we'll hear things once it becames clear those projects will hit their intended dates, as of course with the pandemic and all of this delays, its gonna be difficult to talk about films and projects you dont know are gonna even meet their release dates

Considering that they are still trying to finish some projects it might make sense to skip an event like this and focus on finishing up some things.
