Captain America
The Sentinel of Liberty (Chris Evans) has made eight appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe thus far and while he's usually on the winning side of things, he suffered his first defeat just this past April in Avengers: Infinity War when he couldn't stop Thanos (Josh Brolin) from snapping half the universe out of existence.
He will return next year in the still-untitled Avengers 4.
Iron Man
The Armored Avenger (Robert Downey Jr.) has nine apperance under his belt with Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Avengers: Infinity War.
Stark was unable to save his protégé Peter Parker (Tom Holland) from a tragic demise, but he'll do everything in his power to reset reality and bring him back in next year's still-untitled Avengers 4.
Scarlet Witch
The Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) has come a long way since her introduction in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and after her adventures in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Infinity War, she's become a key member of Earth's Mightiest Heroes - and may, in fact, be the strongest of them all.
Black Widow
Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) has made six appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Iron Man 2, The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Infinity War.
Black Widow has never been the trusting type, but after finding a family of sorts in the Avengers, it's probably safe to say she'll be extra motivated next May when the remaining members of Earth's Mightiest Heroes band together to bring the fight to Thanos (Josh Brolin).
Ant-Man
Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is officially an Avenger after joining Team Cap in Captain America: Civil War and while he sat out Avengers: Infinity War due to his house arrest, next month's Ant-Man and the Wasp looks like it's going to give us some answers about his whereabouts. Plus, we may even get some idea on how he'll ultimately factor into the still-untitled Avengers 4.
Black Panther
After making his mark in Captain America: Civil War and Black Panther, the King of Wakanda (Chadwick Boseman) was undoubtedly one of the more surprising casualties of Avengers: Infinity War. Even though it's not a stretch to assume he'll be back before the credits roll on Avengers 4, it remains to be seen how exactly the remaining Avengers will manage to pull off this seemingly impossible feat.
Winter Soldier
Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), who has notched six MCU appearances, has had one of the more rollercoaster journies in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe having gone from presumed dead in Captain America: The First Avenger to amnesiac killing machine in Captain America: The Winter Soldier to the top of America's Most Wanted list in Captain America: Civil War to the White Wolf in Black Panther and finally, to Avenger status in Avengers: Infinity War.
Drax the Destroyer
Drax (Dave Bautista) was easily the comedic highlight of Avengers: Infinity War with two hysterical sequences that will likely live on forever on the internet in meme form. Unfortunately, however, the Destroyer was unable to exact his revenge on the Mad Titan and was among the many to disappear into nothingness when Thanos (Josh Brolin) snapped his fingers.
Doctor Strange
The Sorcerer Supreme (Benedict Cumberbatch) has come a long way since his introduction in Doctor Strange and had firmly established himself as the true Master of the Mystic Arts by the time Thor: Ragnarok came around. Strange also proved to be invaluable in Avengers: Infinity War and while he may have perished, there's plenty of reason to believe that losing half the universe was always the only way to stop Thanos (Josh Brolin).
Falcon
Falcon (Anthony Mackie) has made five appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Infinity War.
Nick Fury
Ten years ago, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) had an idea and now, here we are. He's racked up eight Marvel Cinematic Universe apperanaces to date with Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Avengers: Infinity War.
While he's been sidelined for the vast majority of Phase 3, he'll be back in a big way in next year's Captain Marvel, which promises to answer how exactly he lost his left eye.
Gamora
Gamora (Zoe Saldana) has the most tragic arc in the entirety of Avengers: Infinity War and ultimately lost her life at the hands of her lifelong tormentor Thanos (Josh Brolin). Since her death happened before the snap, it remains to be seen whether Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Nebula (Karen Gillan), and the remaining Avengers will be able to resurrect her along with the rest of the universe.
Groot
I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot.
Hawkeye
Since Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) sat out Avengers: Infinity War, it's probably safe to say that he'll have a huge part to play in the coming Avengers 4. The last member of the founding Avengers has collected four apperances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe thusfar with Thor, The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Captain America: Civil War.
Heimdall
Heimdall (Idris Elba) was the first major on-screen casualty of Avengers: Infinity War and while it's unlikely we'll see the Gatekeeper pop up again, it's not something we can rule out just yet since he is an Asgardian after all.
Hulk
After getting a pretty bad beatdown from Thanos (Josh Brolin) at the start of Avengers: Infinity War, The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) refused to rejoin the fight on Earth, but that didn't stop Bruce Banner from doing his part to help save the world.
Korg
As far as we know, Korg (Taika Waititi) is probably dead. However, since we never saw a body (or pebbles?), it's just as likely that he managed to escape the ship before Thanos' (Josh Brolin) arrival with Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and some other fortunate souls. He wasn't spotted on the recently leaked concept art, but here's to hoping he still pops up to lend a hand in next year's Avengers 4.
Loki
Loki (Tom Hiddleston) had come a long way since his days of playing tricks on Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and he even managed to get some redemption when he put up a last stand against Thanos (Josh Brolin). Unforuntately, his effort was just a little too late and his ill-advised theft of the Tesseract ended up getting him killed.
Mantis
Even though she's only made two appearances, Mantis (Pom Klementieff) has already established herself as a more than formidable Guardian, having managed to temporarily subdue both Ego (Kurt Russell) and Thanos (Josh Brolin).
Nakia
Nakia (Lupita N'yongo) was curiously missing during the Battle of Wakanda, which likely suggests she was on another top-secret undercover mission. It's unknown whether she survived the snap, but we should get an answer on that front sooner than later..
Nebula
Nebula's (Karen Gillan) transition from villain-to-hero is nearly complete, but with the rest of the Guardians gone, it looks like she'll be making her way to Earth alongside Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) next year to link up with Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and the rest of the Avengers.
Okoye
Okoye (Danai Gurira) nearly stole the show in Black Panther and she unsurprisingly managed to steal a few scenes in Avengers: Infinity War as well. In a shocking turn of events, she survived the snap while her King (Chadwick Boseman) disapperaed into nothingness. It's probably safe to say she'll be extra motivated in helping her now-Avenger teammates in stopping the Mad Titan (Josh Brolin) once and for all.
Rocket Raccoon
After years of flying solo, Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) finally found a family, but now that Thanos (Josh Brolin) has snatched that away from him, he'll be among the many seeking revenge against the Mad Titan in next year's Avengers 4.
Shuri
While we didn't exactly see Shuri (Letitia Wright) post-snap, the directors have more or less confirmed that she did indeed survive. It's not clear whether she'll have a role to play in Avengers 4, but we can probably assume that she will, although it's uncertain whether she'll take on the Black Panther mantle in her brother's absense.
Spider-Man
"I don't feel so good, Mr. Stark."
Spider-Man (Tom Holland) suffered the most devasting death in Avengers: Infinity War and the Russos really haven't made it easier on fans, confirming after the film's release that Parker was actually the only one in the universe to feel everyone's death - including his own - coming.
Star-Lord
Star-Lord's (Chris Pratt) stock has never been lower as many fans have taken to social media to express their disappointment in his poor decision-making, which, of course, allowed Thanos (Josh Brolin) to regain control of his mind and defeat the resistance on Titan..
Thor
The God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth). who's made seven apperances to date, was argubaly the MVP of Avengers: Infinity War and had some of the film's standout moments, which includes his badass arrival on Earth. He even almost managed to single-handedly defeat Thanos (Josh Brolin), but unfortunately, he chose not to go for the head, which proved to be a devastating mistake.
Valkyrie
Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) was one of the more notable heroes missing from Avengers: Infinity War and while we can probably presume she's still alive and kicking somewhere in the universe, we still don't have any confirmation on whether she'll join the Avengers next summer..
Vision
Vision (Paul Bettany) had arguably the most brutal death in Avengers: Infinity War as Thanos (Josh Brolin) savagely ripped the Mind Stone from his head and discarded his body like it was trash. While the plan to destroy the Mind Stone was good in theory, Wanda's (Elizabeth Olsen) initial hesistation really ended up costing the universe.
War Machine
Both War Machine (Don Cheadle) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) managed to survive the snap, which gives us at least two characters from the first entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that will definitely appear in next year's Avengers 4.
The Wasp
The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) is all set to make her grand debut in next month's Ant-Man and the Wasp and while her role in Avengers 4 is said to minimal, here's to hoping that we get to see her in all her glory, kicking ass and taking names alongside Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Wong
Wong (Benedict Wong) bowed out after the battle in New York, so there's a decent possibilty that he managed to survive the snap since he wasn't seen on-screen during the aftermath, which would be good news for the Avengers as they look for a way to reset reality.
