No Ordinary Family Headed For Cancellation?

No Ordinary Family Headed For Cancellation?

Word is that No Ordinary Family star Michael Chiklis has been signed to star in the CBS comedy pilot Vince Uncensored, about a guy who goes through a life-changing transformation and decides he's going to say whatever's on his mind to everyone, being completely honest in the process.

According to Deadline, Vince Uncensored is in second position for Chiklis to No Ordinary Family, should that series be picked up for a second season. Unfortunately, there are few people who think that the show will be coming back, the family at its center doing their best against super villains but unable to stop the ratings erosion that has plagued the show.

shame,it was better than "the cape" & "smallville".

the next superhero show to be cancelled "wonder woman".

marvel will show you how to make a decent superhero show.

why not bring back "heroes" that was better than all the recent shows.

I agree heroes should be picked up by fox or fx to make it a great show like season 1

@ Marvel72 - it's easy to see you're drinking too much of the Marvel Koolaid. This show wasn't good and it isn't better than Smallville. Regarding this show I'm surprised it lasted this long. The whole family is a poor version of actual heroes from Marvel and DC. Don't wonder off to far when the Hulk comes on because if it is weak/disappointing I want to see what you will say then.

@ bluorangeny

so i'm not aloud to like this show more than smallville,my mistake.

they'll have to spend money on the hulk for it to work & be any good thats the only thing the concerns me that they won't & we'll end up with a some crap like they did with doomsday.

the punisher & maybe moon knight would work better than hulk as a tv show.

Unless it's an already established, well liked super hero show, it doesn't have a chance. Smallville survived because it's Superman. The Hulk and Wonder Woman will do well for at least the 1st few seasons, but I don't think they'll come close to lasting as long as Smallville (regardless of the network [keep in mind X-Files was on a fledging Fox and lasted 7 seasons]).

The Incredible Hulk was really boring, so hopefully they'll give him something to do other than wander around helping teenagers with their social issues and house wives with their abusive, dead-beat husbands ;P Wonder Woman has the plot potential of bridging the worlds of modern reality and greek fantasy...we'll see how well that is received (the lesbians sure liked their Xena).

@Grif...will you STILL be crying about Smallville still being on when there is only 1 episode left?! ;D

Typical fate of a superhero show with no-name heroes. When will Hollywood learn that ripping off already established characters and using carbon copies just to avoid licensing fees neve works.

@YourMom--I have to disagree with you about the WW show. The way they've crapped all over the character's origins and identity, I doubt that Wonder Woman will last 5 episodes. Haven't heard enough about the Hulk to speculate yet.

YourMomNaked - 3/10/2011, 5:56 AM
@Knightstalker...Hasn't that argument been the mantra for Smallville-haters for 10 seasons, now? Just ask Grif...LMFAO.

I've been saying it all along: the average person doesn't give a rats ass about origin continuity...that's for comic book die-hards. Each generation has their own RETCON they latch on to as their origin story to identify with. Most people don't know much about Wonder Woman's origin, let alone her comic book origins. Just like Smallville, this will bring a new generation to a new RETCON. And the comic book die-hards will continue to [female dog]...learning nothing from their Smallville ordeal :D The Reeves RETCONNERS still insist he's the best Superman, despite his Clark Kent being a bumbling boob AND 2-4 being mostly crap!

I'd watch Julie Benz sell Tupperware on QVC for 3 hours straight! And yet I still think that this show fell short of its intended plot. Good idea, not executed very well at all.

Here we go again with other show about to get canned. This show is good to me, and has potential. I guess ppl only want to look at dumba#$ reality t.v. like jersey shore and real housewives.

No big surprise here. I didn't see anything special about this show that would lure in non-comic geeks to watch it. They just seemed like a weak copy of the Incredibles, and any number of comic families.

I'd like to see the Hulk be good, but my hopes aren't very high for it or Wonder Woman. Both will probably be pale copies of their '70s series.

And Reeves WAS by far the best Superman. The "bumbling boob" was part of the Clark Kent cover, something to make him seem less likely to be the Man of Steel. And even 3 and 4 were better than Smallville, the original super hero show for people who don't like comic books.

They lost me after the first two episodes. When it comes to superhero shows I prefer it be about characters I'm familiar with.

@comicb00kguy...Clark Kent wasn't the boob Reeves was with prat falls and uber nerdiness...and I like comic books just fine...it's just I understand RETCON.

it was an alright show. but hollywood is saturating the comic market right now. every comic is either being turned into a show or a movie, and when they dont wanna pay for the rights they just make thier own. the general public is getting burned out on comic stuff to the point of "ho hum, another superhero show/movie". the other problem is the network. a show like the walking dead or even smallville are on a small network so they can survive with lower numbers. shows like this on the big three networks will never pull in the type of numbers necessary to survive more than a season.
superdog
superdog - 3/10/2011, 8:28 AM
theres no way a show like smallville, the walking dead, x-files, fringe, supernatural etc....would ever last more than one season on one of the big three networks. they just need much bigger numbers than the smaller networks. thats why all the top quality shows (breaking bad mad men, true blood, etc...) are all on the smaller cable networks

@teabag...I read that from a number of CBM. I haven't seen Cain in action, so I couldn't fairly comment on his version. I tried to youtube Lois & Clark but it seemed dated and campy. I might just have to take the time and watch it so I can understand what so many people saw in the show.
