#1] Lord of the Rings [The whole trilogy]
I just feel this deserves to be on number 1, because of the vision it had and how well the adaptation of this well loved worked by Tolkien.

#2] Watchmen
I'm not sure what went wrong with Watchmen to the general public but most of us could agree that this was definitely one of the best CBM movies out there.

#3] Troy
I've always liked the story of the Trojan War, and this was a great showcase of how the war could have been without the mythological aspects of it.

#4] 300
This movie is really stunning. I always think that you could have any frame from the film and have it is a great poster.

#5] Gladiator
This is simply a movie with great storytelling and I think the Academy Awards will back me on this.

#6] Batman Begins & Dark Knight [I consider this a continuing story]
Simply Christopher Nolan knows how to make movies. This is a Batman you know could exist in this world.

#7] Iron Man
It's hard not to enjoy this movie. Really looking forward for the sequel!

#8] Spider-man 1-3 [Same reason with Batman]
Spider-man 3 might be a hiccup, but still the Spider-Man series is the most watchable superhero movie series out there. Admit it: you have watched it 100 times already or more.

#9] Star Trek
Let's just say that the gang is back and we are ready for more adventures.

#10] Avatar
I know that this is still fresh on your minds, and you know that this movie should be on this list!

I don't expect everybody to agree with my list, but this is my top 10 movies of the last decade.

-access out. Godspeed and MABUHAY!

Its a good list Access@!

I don't think Avatar belongs on the top 10 myself.
Its dialog and writing were not very good!
The story is hackneyed and derivative.
Cameron has tricked everybody with 3-D. 3-D is
just a parlor trick, smoke and mirrors, to take
ones mind off how bad the dialog and script are!

Great movies are not JUST special effects and
boom boom. They must have all the elements.
Great writing, Great direction, great acting, and
good FX. If they don't have all elements then
they don't belong on the best of lists!

Zoe Saldana was great in Avatar but she doesn't know how to be a bad actress.

I think Star Trek belongs in the number 3 slot!
JJ Abrams and the scriptwriters did something amazing
there!

I agree with LOTR being number 1.

Except Avatar and 300 (I loved that movie, just don't think it belongs on best of the decade lists), I agree with this list.

I like them all except Troy. That movie was just awful for me aside from the Bana/Pitt scrap. Bloom sucked, the story was one note, the action wasn't that good..and they completely jettisoned all of the mythology and fantastical elements for no good reason.

Totally respect your list everyone is excellent and the types of movies i could watch over and over again, however you crossed genres so i would think potter or matrix would be in there somewhere but thats just my opinion. And of course Avatar top 3.

now THIS is a list! still a little too CBM heavy for me (did i forget what site im on? haha) but it's hard to argue against the ones you put up. tho i would take out SM3 and 'troy' is the reason i want pitt to play cap:) but i agree with leee, good movie, but not top 10, i'd replace it with 'there will be blood'. but i have no qualms with troy being on your list is a great movie. i'd also replace iron-man (too anti-climactic)with the departed.

i glad you linked the sagas together as one movie on the list. that's how it should go.

EDIT: access@ oh no!!! just read your comment! DO NOT REPLACE TROY WITH THE FREAKIN MATRIX TRILOGY. THAT MOVIE IS DATED! the first one is still great but just going back and watching them now, knowing the 'ending' just ruins it for me. plus i'll always hate those movies for the leather clad fad they started! horrible! lol. and now looking at the wachowski's work since then has made me realize they're pretty much one trick ponies who try to make live action anime and fail hard.
