Hey all. Well its another one of those shorter review weeks. Still these 3 are of course a good look through. Today we dive deeper into the events of OMD with issue #2 of One Moment in Time, Discover who the next protector is in Brightest Day #7, and The continuing events in Hell's Kitchen with Shadowland #2. With that lets begin.

Amazing Spider-man #639 aka One Moment in Time part 2- This was a slightly confusing issue but from what I gathered this event takes place after Civil War and before OMD. Glad I was able to figure it all out because not knowing would only make it double confusing. Anyway, the issue is mainly plot pushing and exposition of what occurred after Peter never making it to the altar. Peter swings around to search for MJ, he finds her at his place and they have a huge argument which causes MJ to leave him all alone. The story focuses mainly on MJ coping with what it would be like married to a super hero. She and Pete then have another talk and reconcile that they will not marry unless Pete gives up being spider-man....FOREVER!!!!! MJ and Peter continue to talk and bring up the events of Civil War and how that lead to all the troubles leading up to OMD...BUT as Aunt May dies, something occurs that changes everything. After figuring out when and where this takes place this is a much more grounded issue. We have no old school artwork from the issue of them getting married. Theres little to no real action scenes in this except for one flashback of Spidey punching Stark. The art is the same as from the previous. Oh and by the way, the issue titles are pretty obvious, 638 was something old, and 639 was something new....GEE I WONDER WHAT THE NEXT TWO ARE GONNA BE!!! lol...anyway this was good, can't wait to see how it all ends and wraps it all up. I give it a B+

Brightest Day #7- MAN OH MAN does this issue bring out all the bells and whistles. This issue is basically one giant revelation as to whats coming up with the next chapter in the events of Brightest Day. The issue tells the 12 heroes and villains who were resurrected that each one of them must perform a task to define their new life while awaiting for the next champion to be the replacement for the white lantern Deity. I won't spoil who must do what in order for their life to have greater meaning...except one they're life goal has been accomplished. I can't spoil this issue, its a must read. I give it an A+

Shadowland #2- This was a really good issue to this major event. The issue begins with Danny and Luke in a Soup Kitchen discussing what occurred with the death of Bullseye. In walks Fisk who makes a small deal with the Heroes for Hire but they not buying it. Meanwhile Matt is in turmoil and has basically snapped and wants to take full control of New York. Meanwhile meanwhile, Lady Bullseye and some random Asian man read off a scroll and summon a familiar face. Meanwhile meanwhile meanwhile, Danny, Luke, and a few others go into the castle and seek an audience with Matt and beg him to change his ways. Meanwhile x4 a man captured in the beginning of this issue is in the Shadowland Prison, he hid a lock pick set and frees himself, until the familiar face shows himself and its....GHOST RIDER(YAY!!!!!!) and rips through the ninjas. Matt hears the commotion and thinks it was his friends doing and the hand attack...oh and Spidey joins the fray. This was a really great issue. It pulled all the stops and gave us plenty of action and showed us most of the major players involved. I loved Ghost Riders entrance(BEST ENTRANCE EVER!!!) and I can't wait to see him in this much more, I'm definitely gonna pick up his Shadowland series soon. I seen all the promos for who is the next MAN WITHOUT FEAR and I'm impressed as to who it may be. I highly recommend this issue, great story and action, A-.

Now this may come off as a rant, but I want to bring my thoughts into the issue I just heard about. I'm sure some are supporters while others are fine with it, but the main issue is about comic-con and its future. The main aspect is that Comic-con is no longer about comics, but Hollywood catering to the geeks and nerds by showing off the next great big things, as if they have final say over what makes money and what tanks. The industry in turn made the event bring in people who shouldn't be there besides only making large crowds and many people never get to see the big press events due to the extreme lines and that seem never ending when people hope they will get in until it reaches capacity and dashes hopes for that year. From what I saw in the James Rolfe(aka the AVGN) he said that the comic section of the dealers room was much calmer, while everywhere else was a madhouse. So as each year seems to just get bigger and bigger, the convention center will eventually overflow with capacity and people never being able to get where they want to go. So as Rolfe said, the con should no longer be called COMIC-con...but rather something like Geek-con or Media-con. However his best idea and I'm sure you, like me agree with the idea of them splitting up the con into many tiny parts. Have the good old fashion Comic-con from days past be about comic books and a comic book movies. Then have a sci-fi convention for other things, a San Diego Otakon, and a Horror Con. Split these up amongst the spring and summer season so you can save on space, allow people to breathe in the place, and still be able to have good number of crowds. Now, I went to NYCC and Wizard con and those were good because they weren't overly huge and all about the fan pleasing. Just a gathering of people relatable to you and me.

and those are my reviews and tiny rant. I hope you all read these issues and take my thoughts into account. Hope to hear your responses, catch you all later. Aki87 OUT!!!

@della..it was just a funny way of saying that all these events happening at the same time leading up to the one point. like in the old justice league cartoons. the narrator would say MEANWHILE AT THE HALL OF JUSTICE...that was my little spin on it...also I won't say if she dies or not...but believe me it changes things...hopefully for the better

I really liked Brightest Day #7. Regardless of its pacing I'm digging this series.

Anil, I agree that Bullseye one shot was awful! $4 wasted!

Brightest Day is the SHIT! Issue 7 is so awesome I can read again. I know Marvel and DC are the greatest in the comic industry, but may I recommend reading the Invincible series. It's the only non Marvel and DC comic I read. Image comics and Robert Kirkman is doing great things with Mark Grayson aka Invincible's character. Great article btw especially on the bit about Comic Con.

On ComiCon: This may seem like a slap in the face to old school comicbook fans. To be honest I'm just grateful I'm such a nerd for comicbook movies or else I wouldn't have gotten back into comic books myself. After Iron Man, I just couldn't resist the urge.

Spidy OMIT: For those of you who don't know (I too look it up myself) the saying goes "something old, something new/something borrowed, something blue/and a silver sixpence in her shoe." Very sad, but I'm hopeful that OMIT will leave us all feeling better about ASM.

Ultimate Mystery: Purple Ben Grim sucks. Totally unnecessary. My guess is the villain is either Dr. Doom back from the dead or Emil Burbank. If I find out that Reed Richards is really dead, then the Ultimate universe really has come to an end. Purple Ben Grim loving on Sue Storm? No way! Sue is Reed's girl. I wonder if they'll turn purple Ben into Gladiator or Quesar or something purple and cosmic (either way, it sucks).

Shadowland: Gotta agree with Aki. It's probably no one from the teaser posters. Remember when they had a teaser poster of "who is Norman's secret weapon?" featuring the Beyonder, Mephisto, Thanos, Odin, Scarlet Witch, and Dormammu? Then in Siege we discover that the Sentry/Void/Angel-of-Death come out of left field to be the "secret weapon." Electra or Echo are much more likely than Black Panther, Falcon, Gambit, Nova, and whatever other unlikely jokers.
