Hey guys. Yeah I skipped a week of comic reviews because...well nothing I read was coming out except Brightest #3 so I decided to just jump over last week and picked it up my set of comics this week. This week's reviews are Nemesis #2, Brightest Day #3, Invincible Iron Man #27, and the new series Avengers Academy #1.

Nemesis #2: after a long wait the second issue has finally hit and it keeps upping the ante and gives us a very disturbing origin for Nemesis. The first shows us how Nemesis came to be, he was brought up by crazy rich parents(his dad hunted stray teenagers) and as his mother was getting the chair she asked to to get revenge on the man who caught them, which is the Police men we follow. We see how Nemesis grew into power over in China first, then he comes back to America to seek out his revenge. This issue as I said keeps you always guessing how he has all this planned, and will he get away with it. The art is top notch and of course Millar's writing is spot on. I give this issue an A-

Brightest Day #3: This issue immediately picks up right from #2. We see Dead man fight the Anti-monitor, let me repeat that DEAD MAN FIGHTS THE ANTI-MONITOR!!!! We get more time with the Firestorm kids who are forbidden from going near each other for fear it could be dangerous, one still hears the mysterious voice. We get a bit more time focusing on Aquaman who can for some reason still be able to call dead fish. The issue ends with Hawkman and Hawkwoman are confronted by things from their every past. Johns writing is spot on as ever and the art is still great every time. I figured that the first half of the series will focus on the heroes whereas the other may be focusing on the villains, because we never see them yet. I give this issue a B+

Invincible Iron man #27: This issue picks after the last issue. We follow Tony still trying to regain his former empire. We are introduced to a new member of his future business. She's an old friend of Tony's and an future investor. Pepper is begging for Tony to put the repulsor disc BACK into her body so
she may become Rescue once again and even demands so new upgrades to the suit. We also Detroit Steel in action in Japan against techno villains and once again the HAMMER siblings are there to demonstrate the power it has. The clearly evil army guy contacts them and they join forces. The issue ends of Tony and Rhodes flying to Japan to see whats happening. Fractions writing for Iron man is amazing. He makes simple discussions and minor chit chat amongst the characters very interesting and the artwork was great, I so far have not found any errors like the last time. I give this issue an A

Avengers Academy #1: boy oh boy was this a great and exciting new series. The premise is not at all like Avengers: the Initiative, this series focuses on a set of young heroes who were once hand picked by Norman Osborn to be H.A.M.M.E.R. agents. Each character is well varied and everyone has unique personalities, my favorite so far is Finesse and Hazmat(who I believe may be Radioactive Man's daughter but lets wait and see). The teachers for these young students are from the A:I series and its going seeing them back and they have a deep secret they are keeping from the kids. Speedball is also back from being penance and he has a hard time coming to terms with it. I actually really loved this series, its very interesting to say the least, we are immediatley hit with a plot twist and we don't know how all this will turn out. The characters are varied and the powers are pretty cool. The writing did feel like what kids their age would talk and the art was colorful and spot on. I give this a high recommendation, it don't think of it as YET ANOTHER AVENGER title, it doesn't like that at all. I give this issue an A-

Once last things before I end this article I want to bring up a few comic relate things. First off Matt Fractions Thor run will finally begin in September with issue #615(I'm excitied) and another change in my reviews. I will not be reviewing any limited series due to my finical limitations. I been lacking in my gaming habits, I will still read them but once they hit TPB or HC forms. I will still bring in new series to review but for every new one I must drop another and thats hard to do. Also a reason for lack of TPB or HC reviews is because I'm saving the trades for after the Philly Comic-con, which will be my next review article. So there you have it, those are my reivews for this week. See you guys soon in the posts, til next time BlackAirsAki out!!!!

@anil... yeah brightest Day is moving kinda slow even as a biweekly series its slow but it will pick up, I wanna see why the villains came back more than the heroes. Academy is at least are gonna focus on a small batch rather than an entire camp is a bit easier to follow, I hope it picks up quickly, Nemesis, its a true hit and miss comic, I'm curious how Fraction will handle Thor, I like Ferry's Ender series. I don't read the Ultimates line anymore, its such a waste. I dropped Shield. Secret Avengers was awesome, it was a great sequel to Dark Avengers, didn't read Red Hood or Thanos imperative. I'm loving the heroic age too, and to me they are both equal. I wonder how Bruce will handle this new world when he returns.
