Well with the announcement of Singer returning to the franchise he started with X-men: First Class all I have to say is HUH?!!????!!??? You go from directing the first 2 films which weren't 100% faithful but "captured the essence" of the characters, then he skips 3 entirely, witnesses a terrible spin-off, and now decides to comeback to direct a prequel which wont involve the original roster. Huh, how are they gonna pull this all off...well considering FOX seems to be more interested in profit over storytelling it seems destined to fail. However, singer is a good director, he knows how to hold your attention by giving us stories about characters you can associate with. We all know what its like to be alienated or treated different, he knows how to capture the X-men universe really really well, but when I read he didn't like the group, I felt kinda weird saying its a good movie. Was it like everyday he was thinking "THIS IS SO STUPID OF A CONCEPT YET IM GONNA DIRECT IT THE WAY I SEE FIT".lol.jk. back to my point. His movies aren't the problem. The problem is the audience goers themselves. The first x-men movie had a lot of talking and little fighting, X2 had a balance of talking and action, 3 was pure action and pure crap, and Wolverine....yeah, anyway, so hopefully when he does First Class he balances the movie with good story telling and good action sequences. Also don't go CGI happy with the characters, he used alot of practical effects for the first 2 movies, like real fake looking wolverine claws(take that origins.lol). From whats been gathered with FC is that its gonna be like the harry potter of comic book movies, but the more darker ones of recent years, which I'm all for if it can be pull off really well, just no more love triangles or any Twigay look. Also for once please please by all the powers of the one-above-all don't let FOX ruin this movie. They like to get their hands on things and make them terrible*cough origins cough* of excuse me, think I'm getting a cold.lol. anyway, Fox was known for making good movies, I think the people running it only seem to care about themselves and people like them to enjoy a movie they pay to see rather than being PRODUCERS, AND ALLOWING THE WRITER(S) AND DIRECTORS DO THEIR JOB WITHOUT INTERFERENCE. It's easy to bash fox nowadays but with the awesomeness of AVATAR their seems a slight sliver of redemption, but not much, like a small pinhole in the great wall of china.lol. With all this said, here's hoping that Singer can return the series from the depths of comic movie hell and make a movie worth seeing, make the story good, characters worth caring about, balanced action sequences, not too many cameos or references, and don't set up for a sequel, with those put in place I will be a happy camper. Til next time true believers. BlackAirs87, OUT!!!.lol

To me it's bad cause They should just RE-boot the whole franchise.
They based the whole franchise on Wolverine too much.

I think he "gets it" so to speak. I definitely like his style better than Ratner.

he did a good enough job to not reboot them. the events of X3 are easily fixable if they went with sinister and the madelyne prior clone deal.

the only way i would want a reboot is if Marvel got the rights back. i don't think this needs a reboot.

as for xmen first class, i think its going to be weird to see jean, cyclops, beast, storm, and whoever else they pick. you know it ca't be angel or iceman, so its going to be a little weird i think. i would much rather singer do X4.

i agree corndogburglar only remake this if marvel gets right back. because if they remake it with fox over and over it will just ruin it when marvel get the right back. well we know marvel will make a awesome x-men films when they get it back as well as spiderman, and fantastic four.

Agree with InSpace also. feels like we've seen 4 Wolverine movies. It's time for the X-MEN to shine, not just one character. If Singer can remember that, then I'm ok with him directing this new movie.
