John Arturo - When did you start collecting and how did you get into the hobby?

Terence Smith - I'm from Ireland and about 5 years ago I went to New York on holidays and could not wait to go to a comic book store to see how it should be done as Ireland isn't the best when it comes to stores like over there. Anyway, I was a fan of comic books but didn't own many, then I picked up Kingdom Come and saw Alex Ross drawings and went crazy for them once again! I got the bug then and went from collecting comics onto collecting statues, starting with the small ones and then increasing the size everytime! I wanted to see the drawings in my comics come to life and apart from the movies, statues are the best way I can see them.

John Arturo - Do you collect anything else?

Terence Smith - I collect a lot of comics and also like to collect posters and pictures.....all to do with comics! I have a big collection of DVDs and nearly every comic book movie ever made!

John Arturo - What is your favorite part of collecting?

Terence Smith - I love to be able to see my display and admire it and see a 3D picture of my hero's. I don't believe in keeping anything in it's box and unopened, I like putting it out there for everyone to see and admire as much as I do.

John Arturo - What is the key thing you look for in an item you want to add to your collection?

Terence Smith - I suppose it would have to be the detail in the statue. Realism is out the window, the bigger more 'out there' the better! Detail and a good paint job can be the decisive factor on whether a statue is good or not.

John Arturo - What is your favorite movie?

Terence Smith - I love The Dark Knight don't know how many times I've seen it in the cinema but ( and I'll probably get slated for this!) I love The Shadow with Alec Bladwin, don't what it is about it, maybe because he reminds me of batman (my fav hero) and the fact that Batman was losely based on some of The Shadow's caracteristics.

John Arturo - What is your favorite piece from your collection?

Terence Smith - I'm a big batman fan so it would be a toss up between The Joker from The Dark Knight or the Batman statue beside it.

John Arturo - What are some items you are most looking forward to adding to your collection?

Terence Smith - I'm always on the look out for new Batman statues and can't wait until the new statue come out for The Dark Knight Rises. But I think I'm going to focus on trying to Create the Avengers in my room, seeing as the movie is on it's way I'll have to make them my own.

John Arturo - Finally, what is your favorite aspect of ComicBookMovie.com?

Terence Smith - The stories are great and the up to date news on movies but I love reading everyone's opinion on the stories. It's great seeing other peoples point of views on things, especially to do with comic books/movies. Whether I agree with everything or nothing it's still good to read what people are thinking. I hold comics close to my heart and it's brilliant to see others are so passionate about them too.

If you have a collection (don't worry about the size, it could be 4-5 items and that is still a collection right?) and want me to showcase it on the site, then shoot me an email at "admin at lethalfarce.com" I will shoot you a few questions to answer to go along with the images and once a week we will showcase a users collection on here.

Too bad I never collected comic book toys as a hobby.

I did have a Superman, Batman, Robin figure by Kenner that my folks got me:

But my favorite action figure was actually a Spider-Man figure:

Simply because he was so multi-jointed, it was so fun just putting him and having him hang all over the place!

Oh memories!

@Jordanstine, those Batman, Robin, and Superman figures were part of one of the greatest super hero toy lines ever called "Super Powers".

I have a few of those! Good to see you have good taste Tera! lol. I really like the Hush Batman statue. I almost got it once, but instead I spent my money on an Alex Ross giclee. Flash also looks cool. And Thor and Hulk. Oh heck! They're all awesome! lol.
