While there are many great movies and video games out this Christmas, I've instead chosen to focus on the three best of each that I think would make the best gifts for anyone who loves comic books. With the likes of The Expendables and Call of Duty: Black Ops also out, I'm sure that you guys have plenty of alternative recommendations, so please feel free to share them in the usual place! Thanks for reading, and have a great Christmas!
MOVIES
3. Iron Man 2
Despite getting something of a mixed reaction from fans and critics, this is still another quality entry in the CBM genre by Marvel Studios. Despite being crammed too full of characters, subplots and references to other movies, the action and acting are all the great quality we've come to expect from Jon Favreau, Robert Downey Jr and new cast members like Mickey Rourke and Sam Rockwell. If nothing else, it's am enjoyable prologue to The Avengers.

2. Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
Despite being loved by critics and fans, this movie still struggled at the box office. However, it is most definitely worth your money this Christmas. A hilarious ride of both drama and action, Edgar Wright makes what might just be his best movie yet. A stellar cast (and a simply amazing soundtrack) make it all the more enjoyable as do some brilliant cameos from the likes of Chris Evans and Brandon Routh.

1. Inception
The best film of 2010? Definitely. It's not hard to believe that the man behind The Dark Knight would come up with such an epic masterpiece, and this is yet another intelligent and exciting thriller from Christopher Nolan. The cast is filled to the brim with quality stars including Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Ellen Page and far too many others to mention. Needless to say, they're all excellent and I'd hope to see at least a few Oscar nominations.

VIDEO GAMES
3. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
Although I was a little disappointed in this game, it does manage to make up for the past few poor Spider-Man games that have been released recently. Despite being let down by fairly linear levels, the chance to play as the Amazing, Noir, 2099 and Ultimate versions of the character is great fun as are the unique levels they feature in. The chance to see villains and locations we've not seen in a Spider-Man game before is also a real treat for fans. Decent graphics and a great story by Dan Slott (along with a Stan Lee narration) are a bonus.

2. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
I'm sure that you've seen my various reports on the movie adaptation recently (the fact its also been a motion comic is justification enough to qualify it as a CBM I think, lol) and while what we've heard so far doesn't exactly sound that good, I can't recommend this amazing game enough. The graphics are the best I've seen and although it might be relatively short at only 10 hours, the story is so great, you honestly will not care. Full of amazing set pieces, Uncharted 2 is the closest you'll ever get to actually playing an epic movie.

1. Batman: Arkham Asylum
It's been out a while, and I'm sure that most of you have already bought it. However, I'm sure that there are plenty of you who might be getting a new console this Christmas, so figured I'd remind you lot to pick it up! One of the best games of 2009, this is a must have for any Batman fan especially as it's crammed full of great cameos and easter eggs. The graphics are stunning, and the fighting is brutal, bringing Batman to life like no other superhero game has ever done before.
