A few weeks ago, when I put out a "help wanted" sign for a few more volunteer editors, we got flooded with a ton of applications. While reading through them it occurred to me that many of you don't realize that you don't HAVE to be an editor of the site to contribute to it. Thus, the topic of this tutorial and an open invitation to our CBM community to contribute to the site.
"By the fans, for the fans". You see this phrase repeated a lot on similar fan oriented websites, but its not just a catchy motto here on CBM. ANYBODY can contribute to CBM and it will appear on the site. If the content is decent, we front page it. That is how it works. All you need to do to get started is register and login. Your account page has pretty blue buttons that show you how to do stuff, and we've even made some video tutorials to help you along.
So if you don't contribute yet, here are the three best reasons why you should start. And if you're a fair weather contributor, this is why you should produce even MORE content for CBM...
#1. Because you'll get seen!
There are literally hundreds of thousands of bloggers on the Internet typing away every day, and producing good stuff, yet none of it gets read by anybody but their Mom. CBM gets over 100,000 eyeballs a day from fanboys and industry professionals alike. So, whether you just want to connect with the like-minded fans, or seriously want to get noticed by insiders of the movie and comics industries, this is the place to do it. We have a big platform and huge community, and We front page every decent piece of news and highlight exclusive content and unique contributions. Our content gets picked up by all the major search engines and news outlets. No other website offers you this kind of exposure and immediate notoriety.
#2. Because you can earn money!
Did you know that regular contributors to CBM can make over $1,000 a month by utilizing their ad management area and Google Adsense? OK, its nothing to quit your job over, but no other entertainment news site with our visibility is actively sharing profit with its contributors like we do. We figure that if you're providing good content for us its mutually beneficial, and we want to reward you to keep you around, so we allow you to use your own ad code in your own articles and fansite and let you profit from your good work.
#3. Because you can make a name for yourself!
The beauty of CBM is that we have professional writers who have been at this for years, writing alongside 12-year-olds who just like to write fan fic about the Spider-Man reboot. There are people contributing to CBM from different countries and from all walks of life, and we give them all a place to show off their talents. CBM has made a name for several regular contributors who have done some great things. The sky is the limit for those who apply themselves.
