Because Cable's backstory is directly intwined with Cyclops and Jean Grey...or at least them in the future. The studios (Fox) probably see it as too difficult to fit into 2 hours of film without a prologue and epilogue.

Cable And Domino in a standalone movie would be awesome...you dont have to give the whole explanation x men jargon about Scott and Jean.Make him mysterious give he and Domino a mission and its like Salt Meets Chronicles Of Riddicks. Back history can be explained or alluded to with a flashback sequences showing scott and jean and madelane pryor and various other events but dont focus on that back story crap focus on the characters.Thats the problem with Cbm people think you always have to give a orgin or backstory thats why the storylines never get anywhere.Frick Origin Stories Get Into The Meat Of The Story geez

Ohhh...the doings of superheroes in the moonlight. There is a certain glistening effect that Cap must see in Cable's hair that has sparked this mixture of uncertain, moonlit, romantically violent emotions.

This really needs to be the next picture that we have a caption contest with.
