Did anyone peep how delicious Zoe Saldana was looking?

I'm really glad that Boyhood didn't win best movie. Birdman was far better.

About to watch Birdman today, and Redmayne really deserved it. Cumberbatch did equally deserve it too.

Boyhood and Micheal Keaton should have won o. Screeenplay, best picture and Best actor (respectively). Give Best Director to Alejandro could have Best Director. Boyhood was inspirational and to good.

MICHAEL KEATON WAS ROBBED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pissed he didn't win.

Happy for JK Simmons though. Knew no doubt he would win. Really happy for Common though.

Common, Eminem, Three Six Mafia. All have Oscars.

Leo. 0.

Also LOL at Common

The way Sean Penn announced best picture "HOLY SHIT WHO GAVE THIS GUY HIS GREEN CARD????" I died laughing...

Birdman, great film (7 on my Top 10 for last year). Glad boyhood didn't win, while it was a good gimic, if you had taken the same script, filmed it over a few months as opposed to years, wouldn't have recieved as much praise

Redmayne was the real shock though...EVERYONE expected Keaton to win...oh well. The Theory of Everything and Selma are the only best pic nominees i didn't see. Whiplash I was hoping would win.

Whiplash was my favorite movie of last year also. I could rewatch that movie a few more times, can't say that about a lot of slower pace movies nowadays. I like Birdman and Nightcrawler a whole bunch but I doubt I'll be watching those movies again anytime soon.

I love Keaton, but Eddie Redmayne was awesome In Theory Of Everything. Great list of actors this year.

I was happy my favorite performance in all four acting categories won, but was quite disappointed that Birdman beat Boyhood. I loved Birdman. Probably my third favorite movie of the year behind only Boyhood and Whiplash. But Boyhood was the best movie I have seen in years, I loved every second of it, I was already a huge Linklater fan but then he made his masterpiece, and now I'm somehow even a bigger fan. I really thought this might be the year all my favorites actually won all the major awards. Maybe next year.

@AXE

Thanks! Took a while to create!

@dannramm113

Redmayne deserved the oscar, as much as I loved Keaton's performance.
Theory of everything is worth watching for his performance alone. Redmayne disappeared into the role of Hawking that it did't take much time to forget the actor behind the glasses.

Cool. The only MASSIVE surprise is Birdman winning best picture and best director. For a move that isn't wholly focused on political or historical anything...that's impressive.

I didn't think American Sniper should have even been nominated. I thought both Still Alice and Foxcatcher were far better.

No big surprises really, but I wasn't happy with every decision. Birdman deserved most of its trophies, though.

All in all not a show I will remember for long.

I guess I'm alone in thinking that neither Boyhood nor Birdman were good movies.

I have not seen all of the nominated movies yet, but the only good drama I've seen so far in 2014 was "The Good Lie", and of course, it has less than 10,000 votes on IMDB and isn't on any of these nomination lists.

Because Nolan, lol.
DallasAvenger
DallasAvenger - 2/23/2015, 7:58 AM
@MercwithMouth A cynical man might point out that Birdman while not being historically or politically important does feature that other element that Hollywood loves come award season, namely movies about the workings of movies and theatre.

@Amazing512

I was a little surprised that Dawn of the Planet of the Apes lost, but Interstellar did have some amazing visuals.

You can make a really good argument that it deserved it.
