superman was the first comic book super hero, but whether or not he could leap bounds, he still did not make it onto the big screen first

The first movie adapted from a comic book was actually based on Supes’ main competition Captain Marvel, (Fawcett Comics) the hero created by C.C. Beck and Bill Parker. Budget of nearly $150,000 is a bit spendy back in the day, Tom Tyler starred as the captain in this movie as the hero who appears whenever young Billy Batson says ‘Shazam!’

"Adventures of Captain Marvel" is most of the time, this is considered the best movie by republic, The exposure is also credited with making Captain Marvel the best-selling comic book of the 1940s – outsold the infamous alter ego of clark kent himself.

The irony of yhis film is that it n.is now a golden age movie.

when comic sales plummeted. After DC took over the character license, it tried to revive interest with the mid-70s TV series “Shazam!” A new Shazam! movie was being directed yet it has never been released

As for Superman,he could have been the first to hit the major screen with republic comics (now DC Comics)if his contract not broken down. Thus, Superman wouldn’t make his big-screen debut until 1948, seven years after Captain Marvel.
