First Look At Chris Pine, Margot Robbie, & Chiwetel Ejifor In Sci-Fi Thriller Z FOR ZACHARIA

We might just see Wolf Of Wall Street's Margot Robbie join the Suicide Squad, but first she'll take the lead in the big-screen adaptation of Robert C. O’Brien's post-apocalyptic sci-fi novel, Z For Zacharia. See the first official production still after the jump.

Craig Zobel (the brilliant Compliance) will adapt Robert C. O’Brien's sci-fi novel, Z For Zacharia, for Lotus Entertainment. The director has released the first official look at his main cast: Margot Robbie (The Wolf Of Wall Street) will play a woman (a teenager in the book) who lives alone on a farm in the only valley with breathable air following the outbreak of nuclear war. Her life is turned upside down after two strangers (Star Trek Into Darkness' Chris Pine and Serenity's Chiwetel Ejifor) emerge from the forest and make contact. Below is the novel synopsis.

Is anyone out there? Ann Burden is sixteen years old and completely alone. The world as she once knew it is gone, ravaged by a nuclear war that has taken everyone from her. For the past year, she has lived in a remote valley with no evidence of any other survivors. But the smoke from a distant campfire shatters Ann’s solitude. Someone else is still alive and making his way toward the valley. Who is this man? What does he want? Can he be trusted? Both excited and terrified, Ann soon realizes there may be worse things than being the last person on Earth.

Z For Zachariah will be released late next year.
