Do we really need to argue about artists? It's mostly a matter of taste.

One of the best writers in the business? Hahahahah. Dude, you should write for Cracked or The Office or something. How you said that without ending a sentence in "LOL" I'll never know.

the two companies are totally different let them be what they are and get over it. If you want to change the companies so bad go work for them and tell your own stories.

Im a DC zombie but I give Marvel its credit where credit is due. If i have something negative to say Ill say it to myself most of the time and I wont bother posting it. But its true some people just dont know how to let things go.

In my opinion Coipel and Immonen are the two of the best currently. I cant wait for Mighty Thor #1 and the rest of Fear Itself.

Fraction is alright , I enjoy Invincible Iron Man but I'm not a fan of Salvador Larroca 's art, kudos for the work he puts in but its not for me.

I wish they'd keep Coipel on Thor and put Immonen on Journey Into Mystery and Granov on Iron Man

The "God of War" PS2 game surely inspired a lot of illustrators and writers recently.

Coipel is very good, I would not say he is the best out there today, that would be David Finch and Ed Benes!!

Yeah, whoever said Johns was the best writer must be high on crack. Dude writes stories for Shitville. Best writer right now is easily Paul Dini, Jason Aaron, Greg Ruca, Ed Brubaker.

@theintruder- Yes, we DC users contaminate everything we encounter. I have to agree that Geoff Johns appears to be WELL past his prime for comic writing (provided he had one). IMHO

This Thor story sounds like it should be VERY good though.

damn i love comic art convos..i honestly liked olivier coipel when he started off with american comics at dc with Legion..scratchy but still pretty badass. Now he's cleaner and he still tells an amazing story.
But dont sleep on Rafael Albuquerque either..he's a great artist whos only getting better.
@fire59019 i agree all the way to finch and benes..finch is awesome, but its hard to say hes the best..benes to me is a bit overrated.
@intruder im with you dude...fan awards shouldn't be used for true artistic accreditation...and johns has been slipping after the sinestro corps war

Um, why is Storm shown at the end?
VictorHugo
VictorHugo - 4/26/2011, 10:59 AM
Simonthedigger: There´s a X-men cross-over in the 1980´s called "Asgardian Wars", in which Loki tricks Storm into being the Goddess of Thunder.(third Ororo, with the wings tiara)

It was illustrated beautifully by Arthur Adams, by the time, it was heralded as the most beautiful comicbook of all time.

Haven't collected in a while so I haven't heard of most of these writers and artists. This Coipel guy is ok. Nothing great. Artistic taste is subjective though. There really isn't a right or wrong view when it comes down to it. Back when I collected I thought Jim Lee was the $hit, but most of my friends thought McFarlane was better. I, however, didn't care for his work.

@marvel72 & TheIntruder -

Carlos Pacheo
Steve Epting
Billy Tan
John Romita Jr.
Jim Cheung
David Finch
Pasqual Ferry
Leinel Francis Yu

are all good artists in my book.

I've never cared for Jae Lee. The others you named i've either never seen their work or don't remember them.

I've never been a big fan of Coipel's art. It's okay, but I've seen a lot better than him. I much prefer Steve Epting, George Perez, Ethan Van Scriver, and David Finch, just to name a few.
