Many will remember the 2000 film, American Psycho, which starred pre-Dark Knight actor Christian Bale as the lovable psychopath with a penchant for chainsaws and Huey Lewis and the News, Patrick Bateman. The novel turned movie is to again be re imagined as a stage musical starring former Dr. Who actor Matt Smith.

The musical will be directed by Rupert Goold with the book written by Robert Aguirre-Sacasa, who has writing credits including Marvel comics, Glee, the Carrie reboot starring Chloë Grace Moretz and the Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark musical.

The show will debut London’s Alameida on December 3rd.
