Recently elmayimbe has been on a tear revealing lots of details regarding many upcoming movies dropping soon. And it seems he has his eyes and ears all over the newest stuff coming out of marvel studios also. He even revealed the early details for Avengers: Age of Ultron. And now it seems he also has information on the rumoured after-credits scene for Guardians of the Galaxy a film he made a review for a couple of weeks back.
We know that Nova Corps will be in the film, bean lead by it's leader, Nova Prime Irani Irael along with Rhomann Dey, a high ranking officer in the Nova Corps (played by Glenn Close and John C. Reily respectively). It has also been hinted at that Xandar, the planet of the Nova Corps and the place where Star-Lord, Gamora and the rest are being held prissoners, will come under attack by Ronan and his army, leading to the formation of the Guardians to try and repel the attack.
Now here is where it gets interesting.
In the comics Richard Rider gets his powers from the last surviving Nova Centurion, Rhoman Dey. after Xandar gets destroyed by Zorr. In this case, the one responsible for Xandar's destruction seems like it would be Ronan. After the battle, Rhomann heavily injured, either chases one of the villains or crash lands on earth and while succumbing to his injuries chooses Richard Rider and grants him his powers.
NOTE: This is not the official synopsis of how he will get his powers on the film, this is just me speculating or trying to come up with a way for Richard Rider to become Nova..
Being that it would be an after-credits character teaser, it will be doubtful that we would get to see Richard Rider displaying any type of control of this power or any display at all for that matter. How they go from there as to set him up as a powerful superhero only the masterminds at marvel studios know. Or maybe the fans have an idea. What do you think? Guardians of The Galaxy is Marvel Studios newest original property to hit the silver screen.
It will release July 31st in the United Kingdom and August 1st in the United States.
