Hugh Jackman To Host WWE Raw On September 19th

The man we all love (and some love to hate) as Wolverine will appear as guest host of WWE's flagship show in two weeks to promote Real Steel. Click for details and quotes from Jackman..

Many big stars have appeared on WWE programming to promote their upcoming movies/shows but I don't think they have come much bigger than Hugh Jackman. The Aussie actor who has played Wolverine four (soon to be five) times on the big screen will appear on Raw to promote his fighting robot flick Real Steel

"In two weeks, I'll be climbing into the ring on RAW to hang with the Superstars and give the WWE Universe an exclusive first look at my new movie, Real Steel, don't miss it,"

Monday Sep 19th's show takes place in Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. I'm a big Wrestling fan myself, although I had kind of given up on it over the last few years. But recent developments with a wrestler named CM Punk have made it well worth watching again. You might be surprised at how many ways pro Wrestling and comics cross over too. A huge number of Wrestlers (or "Superstars", their given moniker in WWE) are big comic book fans and their have even been WWE comic books featuring characters like The Undertaker and Mankind.

Anyway, Real Steel looks pretty bad let's be honest. But you never know, it could be dumb fun. Jackman is pretty watchable in anything I think, and we also have Evangeline Lilly (Kate From Lost) to look at. It will be interesting to see how the footage screened on Raw goes down. You can also expect Jackman to get into some sort of disagreement with a Wrestler, maybe even mix it up a bit in the ring. And there is always the possibility he will talk about The Wolverine too so tune in.

Wrestling is the biggest pile of B.S. these days. It is so cheesy and dumb.

I think I have seen better acting in porn than I have on Wrestling.

I know wrestling isn't everyone's cuppa but I find it damn entertaining. Sure some of it is eye rollingly bad, but most of the actual in ring stuff is awesome. And then you have guys like Punk stirring things up big time. And that's LEGIT stirring things up not just "storyline". Wrestling is a lot more real than most people think.

@Greengo LMAO. :D
I think Real Steel looks pretty good. It may seem too much like a rock 'em sock 'em robots film, but it should be entertaining.

I saw REAL STEEL a few weeks ago on a special preview screening, it's actually very entertaining if not entirely original and anyone who knows their Rocky fight scenes like the back of their hands will spot a few carbon copied routines. Things to look out for in this film are the kid & robot dance routine before the fight and the way the champion robot enters the ring in the final fight. 7/10

I'm a big wrestling fan and, though Real Steal doesn't look that good, Hugh Jackman seems like a cool guy and I can't wait to see what he does on RAW. I have a feeling Alberto Del Rio might be getting a right hook from Wolverine.

wwe is good fun. Been watching since early 90's and haven't stopped. Sure it's not quite what it was in the late 90's, but times change and it seems to be gradually heading back in that direction. These guys endure more physicality and have to work harder than any of those overpaid sports "stars" that get paid millions to play a game for a few months out of a year and get to spend the other months playing with that money. Oh yeah, this movie has me curious. I'm sure it will be an entertaining watch.
