Legendary Actor/Director Richard Attenborough Passes Away Aged 90

With heavy hearts we bring you the news that the great Richard Attenborough passed away earlier today in London just a few days before he was due to turn 91. The movie legend will probably be most recognizable to CBMers for his turn as John Hammond in the first two Jurassic Park movies, but the Academy Award winner has provided the world with many more pieces of cinematic brilliance both in front of and behind the camera. Attenborough suffered a stroke six years ago that confined him to a wheelchair, and apparently he never fully recovered. His family was by his side when he passed. Take a look at Lord Richard Attenborough's incredible filmography HERE.

The theme song of 2014 should be Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust". Freakin' loved this guy in Miracle on 34th Street & Jurrassic Park, they were two of my favourite films as a kid. R.I.P. Richard Attenborough. Yet another acting legend gone.

I've always considered his "flea circus" monologue in Jurrassic Park as one of the greatest monologues in film history. So simple, yet so effective andhe just delivered it so brilliantly.

I was actually hoping for him as Alfred in Batman v Superman. Sad to see him go, especially so soon after Robin Williams.

Great actor. The Great escape was my favorite. McQueen's motorcycle chaseq scene was state of the art in those days.

ah damn, well he might not have had the same impact on me like Robin Williams did, but RIP Richard

Miracle on 34th Street was all the better for having him in it, Chaplin was brilliantly directed by him and his portrayal of John Hammond was one of the most memorable things about the iconic Jurassic Park

"Dr. Grant, My Dear Dr. Sadler, Welcome to Jurassic Park"

I hope they dedicate Jurassic World to him next year

All I can hope that is relatives will "spare no expense" when it comes to the funeral....sorry not trying to make fun of his death, I just couldnt resist making that reference

but 90 years old is a great age to get to. I just hope he died happily and peacefully. I tell you, if we all got to that age, in relatively one piece, we would all be doing well

Close to 91 is a damn respectable age. He'll be missed, but he had the years for a fulfilled life and will be remembered for his amazing body work.
