"Lobo" Movie Shaping Up To Be PG13

"Lobo" Movie Shaping Up To Be PG13

MTV have some snippets of producer Joel Silver talking about a potential movie outing for the Czarnian nutcase..

As Leee reported a few days ago, the "Sherlock Holmes" producer is keeping his eye out for the next character to develop for the big screen. His hopes for a "St Rock" movie with director Guy Ritchie seem to have taken a nose dive, but the Hollywood big wig has set his sights on everyone's favorite biker bounty hunter, Lobo.

However, any fans of the foul mouthed DC character that were hoping for a suitably adult screen adaptation may be disappointed...

"I think it's structured now as a PG-13 movie," Silver told a group of reporters, according to SCI FI Wire. "I think we've done it that way, but I love it."

Well as long as he loves it!!!. Silver also mentioned James Cameron's "Avatar" technology...

"When any of you see 'Avatar,' see pieces of it, the technology is genius, the stuff that's out there that is doable is fantastic," he noted.

The story for the proposed film is already in its early stages, and bringing it into production sounds like something Silver wants make happen in the near future.

"Lobo is one I'm very excited about maybe doing one day, hopefully soon," Silver said. "I think we can do it. We've got a script we like."

Great, so were going to get a watered-down version of DC comics most obscene character. Still, it makes sense for the studio heads cause PG-13 will bring in a lot more viewers than an R (as Warzone and Watchmen has shown us). Still, Warzone and Watchmen (lets face it... Roarshach and Dr. Manhatten just cant be done in a PG-13 setting) kept closest to the ways thier character really were by not compromising thier characters so its a quality over quantity argument. God, I hope they dont water down Lobo. Really, I dont.

Durkin Lobo isn't a Superman villain, hes crossed paths with pretty much every hero in DC! That's like saying Deadpool is a minor New Mutants villain just because he tangled with em first. Plus, they have made 3 good Supes movies by my count! There's no accounting for taste.

Taker could actually have worked for Lobo..a good few years ago, and if he could pull of the acting.
