The pilot for The Munsters remake will be broadcast on Friday, Oct. 26, rebranded as a Halloween special. At the end of the show you will learn why Grandpa Munster (Eddie Izzard) goes from looking like an elderly man, to some several decades younger. You can see his younger version in the first image below with the rest of the cast. Also have a new image of Herman Munster (Jerry O’Connell) sporting a mechanical heart, and concept art of the family's pet, named Spot.

“You can’t draw dragons without some epic metal!”

The pilot, written by Bryan Fuller and to be directed by Bryan Singer, is described as a reinvention of the 1960s sitcom about The Munsters, a family of “monsters” — vampires, werewolves and Frankenstein, and their “plain” cousin (Charity Wakefield) — that will feature striking visuals in the vein of Fuller’s ABC dramedy Pushing Daisies. O’Connell will play family patriarch, the handsome and gangly Herman Munster, a great dad and devoted husband. He is married to Lily, a vampire, with whom he has fathered a 10-year-old boy, Eddie (Mason Cook). Strong but sentimental, Herman works at a funeral home, and worries that Eddie’s transformation into a werewolf and burgeoning awareness of his family’s origins will crush the boy’s spirit.

Just on the surface of it, it looks partially terrible. But I love the Munsters, so I'll give it a watch.

They missed the point on this one as they're suppose to look like monsters on the exterior too. Can't imagine there will many laughs in the show.

Oh don't worry, Grandpa in his Grampire mode has a bad skin condition. This is not the Munsters.

NBC need to change the name of the family to the Weirdo's.They look kind of normal but, the son goes through his Teen Wolf phase, Dad has a bad case of the scars, sister is still stuck in Brady Bunch mode, grandp turns into a Grampire and mom has bad taste in fashion and men.

Why did someone pull Admiral Akbar's head out of Jerry O'Connell's chest?
