Thanks for reading!

Here are the top 10 movies:

10.The Da Vinci Code

I know that most people don't like this film but I did. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Tom Hanks, Ian Mckellen and Paul Bettany did really good in this movie.

9.300

Zack Snyder delivered a epic masterpiece in March 2007. The film was done beautifully in my opinion and deserves a spot on my list.

8.Cloverfield

This film was very good. The beginning was a little bit boring but after the monster showed up this film rocked. The shaky camerawork was definitely what made the film so good.

7.Batman Begins

One of the very first "reboots" this film was good and restarted the Batman film series after that awful film that I will not mention here. Casting was all good except for Katie Holmes but aside from her this film rocked.

6.The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

A very, very good film that will keep entertaining for ages to come. This film was so good. The cast was good, the film was perfect. Thank you Peter Jackson.

5.Tropic Thunder

This film was the funniest film I have ever seen! I loved it, RDJ did good in it and the film was great and funny.

4.The Dark Knight

The 2nd Chris Nolan batman film, this film became the 4th highest grossing film of all time and is considered by many to be the best CBM of all time. Definitely deserves a spot on my list.

3.Watchmen

Zack Snyder brought us yet again another beautiful masterpiece but this time it was Watchmen. The man was born to direct this film. Of course you will be confused sort of if you havent read the graphic novel.

2.The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

My favorite LOTR film, The Two Towers is a brilliant film and I love it.

1.Gladiator

My favorite film of this decade. Directed by the brilliant Ridley Scott, all of the actors did good in this movie:Russell Crowe was brilliant as Maximus, Joanquin Phoenix should have got a Oscar for his portrayal of Commudus and the rest were also good. If you have not seen this film then GO SEE IT NOW!!!

Honorable Mentions:

-Angels & Demons
-Avatar
-The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
-Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
-Star Trek(2009)
-District 9
-The Strangers

Films to see in 2010:

-Robin Hood
-Iron Man 2
-Kick Ass
-Predators
-A Nightmare on Elm Street
-The Wolfman
-Clash of the Titans
-Jonah Hex
-The Last Airbender
-Inception

Well that is my list. I hope you liked it and comment on what you think below.

i don't agree with only Watchmen. Jackie Earl Haley and Jeffrey Dean Morgan were incrredible bringing to life the characters of Rorshach and the Comedian, but the rest of the casting outside of them and Crudup who did a good job with his part brought the movie down.

Matthew Goode's constantly going in and out of an american accent was down right annoying.

Malin Akerman did not embody the sexiness of Silk Spectre(example: her slow motion scene walking down the stairs in uniform for the 1st time in years, was not sexy at all and just looked odd)

Night Owl should have been played by someone like Philip Seymour Hoffman.

the adaptation from graphic novel to film was done really well (minus the ending but i was never too upset by the loss of the Squid ending) but casting hurt the movie

Guys, you do realise there still is a full year of this decade? 2010? The Next decade starts on January 1st 2011.

What about Daredevil Director's Cut? Hellboy? The Incredible Hulk? We are talking about Comic Book Movies right? If not, I would like to add Dawn of the Dead to the list of top movies of this unfinished decade. If that was also a comic book...well...even better.

Ok then. I will add to the list a little known movie: The Man from Earth. Made me think about it, hard, for more than a couple of months. Even after almost a year I still think about it and what it would actually be like to...well...you know...live that long.

Something about the year ZERO. Don't know how good it is and it was the first site that poped into the browser. Here we go:

http://imagine.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/ask_astro/answers/980902d.html

Another, although may not be very reliable:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_zero

I don't know who uses year zero. I don't and as far as I'm concerned, the next decade does not start until 2011.

Also, on the list should be Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Interesting list Ozy. Wasn't a huge fan of Da Vinci Code (or Angels & Demons for that matter) films, but I'm a big fan of the books. While Gladiator was an excellent film, not sure if it's #1 worthy. I've got the Departed as my #1 pick.

Check out my list of the top 50 films of the decade (I'll leave the arguement alone):

Helldemon

Since the dating method of the calendar is based on the birth of Christ, wouldn't it start with year zero? So then, once we get to December 31, 1999 at 11:59pm in Bethlehem, Israel, a new millinium begins in the next minute. With the year zero to all of 1999, you have 2000 years.

Take out Da Vinci Code, 300, and Cloverfield, and it's a pretty agreeable list IMO. Not mine exactly, but not a list I disagree with totally.
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 1/2/2010, 4:22 PM
Phinehas: You are correct sir.

Helldemon: By your reasoning 1990 would have been part of the eighties. Or do we just forget about the years that end with zero all together.

No, 1980 is considered part of the 80's.
1990 is part of the 90's.
2000 is part of the whatevertheHell you want to call them.
Now we are into the teens.

BTW, this isn't an opinion, its a fact wether you choose to acknowledge it or not. As far as your concerned doesn't make it so.

I didn't like Cloverfield, Da Vinci or Tropic Thunder. Loved the rest.
Necrophobos
Necrophobos - 1/2/2010, 4:47 PM
Hawks, it makes it so for me. It's my opinion weather it is wright or wrong. Why is it so important for you to shove your so called fact down my throat? I gave you two sites that back up my claim. You give me your "fact". No backing. Here is another site that kinda backs my claim:

http://en.allexperts.com/e/y/ye/year_zero.htm

And by the way, I do not use astronomical calendars which use year zero, I use the christian calendar. And both of these do not use year zero.

With this said, I extend an invitation to you mister Hawks to explain your fact.

And since we are talking about the best movies, what about the best horror movies? What movie would be number one? Where would Saw be situated on the list?

I'm sorry. I apoligise. I didn't by any means want to shove something down your throat. You march by any drum you choose to, I'm a firm believer that you have that right. I do the same in my life.

This isn't opinion we are talking about. It's beliefs, and I will not argue beliefs with anyone. You believe one thing, I believe another. Thats good enough for me.

I however, will continue to keep my time along with the majority of the world.

By the way man, you should've just classed all the LOTR movies as a trilogy together, hell its all one big epic movie anyway lol!

Heyyyy i [frick]ing thought TROPIC THUNDER was really [frick]ing funny, great film!!
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 1/2/2010, 5:21 PM
I would have to place The Departed in there somewhere.
InTylerWeTrust
InTylerWeTrust - 1/2/2010, 5:36 PM
Departed definitely would be in my top 10, as would District 9, and maybe Star Trek.
ecksmanfan

The Departed was my #1 pick, District 9 was in my top ten too.
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 1/2/2010, 5:55 PM
DAMMIT TYLER!!! I forgot Star Trek. I would have to put Trek in there also.

Ozy Check it out. Fantastic movie. More twists and turns than a roller coaster, and based on real life events.

all big block busters. LOL i see what kind of film watcher you are. ahahaha
Necrophobos

So Departed is that good? Shame on me for calling myself a movie fan. Gotta check that movie out ASAP.

Milk is a very good movie. Doubt should be up there and if not on the top 10 or 25 at least on the top 100. Let's not forget Moon. One of the best Science-Fiction movies of this decade. Also, Let the Right One In should be factored in. The best vampire movie in a very long time.

But I am curious: with all these tops, where would Avatar be?

Hey people, 0 is not the first number - 1 is. 10 is the completion of the first 10 numbers, therefore the years that end in zero are the end of the decade not the beginning. So technically, the decade is not over until December 31, 2010 comes to a close.
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 1/2/2010, 6:40 PM
Hell: Yes it is that good. Nicholson, Decaprio, Damon, Sheen, and the list goes on. Very foul language but necessary in the context of the story.

"I want my identity back you two-faced f*ggot!"

Pure win.

BTW, what happened to 40 Year Old Virgin? Come on now, if we're all supposed to be nerds here, this should be like religion!
DDD
DDD - 1/2/2010, 7:12 PM
Gladiator was excellent but its not No. 1
over some of the others.

The Departed, I agree! Number 1.

Star Trek should be high on the list!
JJ Abrams and the scriptwriters and actors
I think almost pulled off a miracle.
As a long time Star Trek fan I was extremely
skeptical about this being good but somehow
JJ and co. captured the original's spirit
without doing a parody! Karl Urban's "Bones"
deserves an Oscar nod alone!

Da Vinci Code was a 2 1/2 star movie. It doesn't
belong on this list. It was not as good as the
book in the least.

Cloverfield should not be in the top 10 either.
I liked this movie but it had its flaws.

But good list Ozy@!
Necrophobos
Necrophobos - 1/2/2010, 7:27 PM
Sinestro, 40 Year Old Virgin in my opionion is the best comedy i've seen so far but I do not think it deserves a spot in the top 10. Top 100 maybe but not top 10. I don't think there is a single comedy released in the past 9 to 10 years that deserves a spot in the top 10.

"DUDE...teache me!!!" Priceless, pure comedy gold! ;D
YorickBrown355
YorickBrown355 - 1/2/2010, 7:33 PM
Wow, this is the worst top ten ever. The 10, 9, and 8 spot are a joke right? Da Vinci Code? Really? Cloverfield? Number one is ok. Maybe Top ten. But There Will be Blood didn't make this list?
