The 2012 film that was your biggest disappointment so far, doesn't have to be the worst movie that you've seen. As you can see below, the list is made up of films with redeeming qualities. What I'm truly looking for with this poll is the film that you spent a lot of time anticipating and thought would satisfy your overblown expectations, but by the time the curtains rolled you were left with a sour taste in your mouth from all of the missed opportunities.

I know a lot of people won't agree with this, but I'd have to say the Bourne Legacy. My expectations for it were so high, and it didn't deliver compared to the earlier trilogy. Renner was great in it, and the story was kind of interesting but it dragged A LOT and the pacing was all over the place. The earlier movies had a much better balance of story and action in my opinion.

The Dark Knight Rises! No where near the worst film but I was so let down...
marvel72
marvel72 - 8/20/2012, 7:36 PM
the avengers was very good,so it was out of the amazing spider-man,the dark knight rises & prometheus.(i couldn't give a shit about the others)

so i'm going with the dark knight rises it was good but it wasn't the masterpiece we were led to believe, nowhere near as good as the previous two from the trilogy.

if you like it fairplay to ya,i thought it was abit of a letdown.

Though I would have to say The Amazing Spider-Man. I had 0 expectations for Ghost Rider, The Avengers was exactly as good as I expected it to be, and The Dark Knight Rises surpassed my expectations for it.

The Hunger Games. I'm a huge fan of the book and it just didn't match my expectations.

Anyone who voted for anything other than Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance must be crazy. I mean, each's opinion for the other movies may differ, but...is there really anything in the above list that is worse than that?

The Avengers is the best time I've ever had in a movie theater ever.

The Amazing Spider-Man is the best Spider-Man origin I've ever seen, from comics or film, similar to how I felt about Batman Begins but even better.

The Dark Knight Rises makes me think of Spider-Man 3 and Superman Returns, so judging from what I was expecting, The Dark Knight Rises.

I haven't seen any of the other films so far, but never expected anything from them. I'm about to watch The Hunger Games via Netflix though, hopefully it'll be great.

I went to Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance with zero expectations.

Still disappointed.

Of the 5 movies on the list that I've seen, I voted for The Amazing Spiderman. It would've been amazing had the script been much better. Everything else about it I felt a huge improvement over Raimi's films. The Avengers and TDKR were phenomenal, I'm of the camp that dug Prometheus, and The Hunger Games doesn't count cuz I wasn't anticipating it, went w the gf and of course, it sucked.

Can't believe anyone would waste their money on Ghost Rider after the first one btw. And I don't think I'll be seeing any of the rest of these movies, except maybe SWATH when it gets to dvd. Good day.

Amazing Spider-Man was great, I really don't see why some people don't like it..

The problem with disappointing is because it doesn't mean it's a bad movie, it means you didn't get something as big as you expected. Avengers was just as I expected, I knew what I was getting myself into.

The Amazing Spider-Man, while fun - wasn't what I expected and I was greatly disappointed because the advertising promised me that this wasn't just a rehash of Spider-Man 1 with better actors. Though there was a great arc about Peter really understanding the idea of great power coming with great responsibilities - it wasn't the movie I was looking for, so it was a disappointing, but good movie.

I was warned before hand that the Dark Knight Rises wasn't as good as The Dark Knight and I had expected that. I was pleased with what I had got and it was a fitting end to a good trilogy. It's cinematography, music, and good dialogue was enough for me - however I was disappointed that there was no deeper meaning to Bane or Talia with Batman like there was with Scarecrow and Joker. However, dreaming about what would happen next was even better than analyzing the movie.

I didn't expect much out of Prometheus but I expected more than what I got, it had to have been the most disappointing movie to me - even though it was okay. But I did watch Green Lantern for the first time this year and I'll vote that in my head because it deserves most disappointing movie of all time.

John Carter and Prometheus for me...not that I didn't liked them, but they weren't exactly what I expected.

Avenger was just 'meh' to me. Still don't see what the fuss was about. It was a big disappointment to me. The villains were bad, including Loki, which seems to be the weak point for nearly all Marvel films. Hulk was the only outstanding part of the movie.

@Bodwulf I agree! I wanted to bitchslap myself for watching SOV.

The trailers made it look like it was going to be good but boy was I disappointed. I really shouldn't be though. After all, this film was directed by the guys who gave us Crank & Gamer. We also got Nic Cage back, so yea...

Brave gets my vote. I'm pretty disappointed in Pixar as a whole lately. But then again, if Brave was made by Hanna-Barbera, it would've been a masterpiece like Wacky Races!

Hanna-Barbera is WINNING! DisNAZIs are losing!

See, I didn't expect anything from Ghost Rider. I did however have high hopes for Spider-Man, and I left the theater pretty dissapointed. So that movie gets my vote.

If Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance was more like Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter - in terms of decent acting, and spending the running time with a bunch of exciting action scenes - I believe I wouldn't be disappointed with it.

The thing is, I thought that it would be a "mindless fun" type of a movie. Did I even get a lot of that? Nope.
