Well I'm a trekker so if that was on the list then that for sure. But out of the list, Wolverine followed by Transformers I guess. Haven't read Watchmen yet so I wouldn't know lol but I'll prolly see that one too.

man, this list blows compared to 2008's comic book adaptations... wolverine and watchmen should be great, as well as transformers, but the others will be mediocre and forgetable

Wolverine and Watchmen for sure, but a lot of you are dismissing Kick Ass. That movie is looking to be entertaining, so is Astro Boy.

I find it laughable that someone would say that Wolverine is the only comic book movie worth watching because Watchmen doesn't come close to the comic. Really? You think FOX's Wolverine is close to the comic? Watchmen and Kick Ass seem to be the only two that could be considered "close to the comic" compared to everything else on the list.

Well 1st would prob be Wolvie, cause the x-men movies are always at least worth one watch. then DB cause I'm a fan of the show and even if story sucks fights will be awesome. and 3rd GI Joe because i never missed the show as a kid and I'm hoping the movie turns out well.

I don't know a lot about the others i never read kick ass, i remember watching astro boy as a small child but don't remember anything about it, I am working on reading Watchmen but i so far i don't see why is the best graphic novel of all time, never heard of whiteout, I do want to see transformers but i really don't know how they will beat the first one unless there are robots in it from start to finish and the story is got to be better then the first cause that was a meh storyline.

supermike??????? wtf are you talking about TDK was a sweet movie maybe not true to the events in the comic but all the characters were true, minus the scars for the joker, but he doesn't really have a canon back story anyways so it doesn't matter that is all irrelevant.

crappybumbum - 1/13/2009, 12:38 PM
LOL
Supermike must be on drugs
And I'm excited to see Watchmen and Wolverine both and they should be great...but 2008 was the best year in comics movies. I can't wait to see the new ones this year!

Watchmen and Wolverine for sure!

Someone said that there should be a poll on the fan picks for the Joker. I think that's a really good idea. You should get on that all-knowing Galactus. I remember there was James Franco, Ben Foster, Johnny Depp, Benicio Del Toro and Sam Rockwell. There were others, but I can't remember. They're all on the post called "Could The Joker Return?"

And don't even listen to people like SuperMike and Hyson. They just say shit to piss people off. I respect people who state their opinions, even if I don't agree with them, but some people just say things to be annoying.

Transformers in NOT a "Comic book movie". Its a toy line turned Saturday morning cartoon. Hell, i think GIJoe got that same treatment! haha So if they count, i have no idea why Terminator Salvation isn't on that list. The Number one movie on my personal radar is Watchmen of course, but Terminator is a real close second. It'll be nice to see how they clean up the mess of part 3. Wolvie at #3..its still a FoX-Men movie.. not X-Men.

Agreed ANooBiS, those two really shouldn't fly. If we were counting those, we should probably be adding Star Trek & the new Street Fighter onto that list. Being what it is, I'm watchmen all the way on this. The more I read about this the more I like it (F#$* the squid) :) Fox's track record with superheroes makes me anything but excited about Wolverine, that said, I'll still be in there opening night for it, like a chode; waiting for punishment and hoping to be surprised. Both GIJoe & DB both look like the great return of the old Street Fighter movie; and by that, I mean completely crappy, but maybe so bad that in 5 years we'll watch them for a laugh. Transformers? Sorry, the first one didn't work for me at all. They killed the black transformer for god's sake! WTF! Even John Turturo couldn't save it. I know I'm in the minority on that one, but this new one can't be any better.

ive come accross a few Dark Knight haters. They are always one of two things. People whos inner fanboyness cant allow them to praise a movie that so many people agree is a masterpiece on nearly every level (its not perfect in fairness!)...or people with really shitty taste!

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU.

They are introducing Emma Frost in Weapon X lol....yeah great idea...NOT!....Wolverine doesnt meet Gambit untilllll wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy later. Wade Wilson/deadpool he doesnt meet THE CHARACTER DEADPOOL until like later on down....and pretty much the only good thing I see faithful to the origins off WOLVERINE is the way his WIFE was salughtered and raped by sabertooth.....and sabertooth getting his as owned by wolverine after he finds out. THats pretty mucht he only thing going for this movie...everything else is a another spiderman 3 cluster [frick]!
Aiiwolf
Aiiwolf - 1/14/2009, 1:07 PM
So I must say again WOLVERINE FLOP!

Watchmen will prevail.
shiverman20
shiverman20 - 1/14/2009, 6:07 PM
im VERY sceptical about the mass of characters being crammed into Wolverine, seems there'll be way too much going on for any real character building, which is the most important thing about a movie as you can have as many cool fights as you like but it doesnt matter if you dont give a [frick] about the characters!
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 1/14/2009, 6:15 PM
But its an adaptation! it cant be exactly like the comic, and shouldnt be. How many writers have taken on the character of Wolverine? shit loads! so which one do the filmakers take as gospel? they have to mix n match. i agree its a bit of a stretch having gambit in the movie but i dont care as long as they dont [frick] up the character and his origins too much.

and aiiwolf, Watchmen has taken more liberties with the souirce material than wolverine!

It's nice to know that Frank Miller won't be ruining any more good comics like The Spirit this year. At least we can all be thankful for that. I liked Sin City because it fit with the source material but he basically made The Spirit into Sin City. Will Eisner is most likely rolling in his grave. SO in that respect it's a good year for comic movies.

I just really wish i could get excited over GI Joe. I dont really care if its a good movie, because it just doesnt have that Joe feel to it(yet).
