I have to say, it looks simply brilliant. RDJ makes Sherlock out to be the arrogant, eccentric genius he is. And the "supernatural" aspect that (undoubtedly) should be disproven in the end, looks to be just as entertaining as the characters themselves.

I think this movie will be a helluva ride!

I can't believe Jude Law is playing second fiddle to RDJ. Jr. is a good actor and everything but Jude Law would be a much better Holmes. This movie looks terrible anyway so maybe he dodged a bullet.

Sherlock has been alot of things, even a comic, but even if he wasn't, Robert Downey Jr. was in iron man and now anything he does can be talked about, or at least thats how it should be, or soon will have nothing to talk about...

I have never viewed Sherlock Holmes in this way. I always had this image of a fuddy duddy type of man. This is very different, interesting. It reminds me more of The movie From Hell with Johnny Depp about Jack the Ripper. They seem to have a great cast. I hope it doesnt disappoint.

Many people see Sherlock Holmes as the upstanding intellectual, always working for the good of solving a case... This is mostly due to Basil Rathbone's version of Holmes from the 40s. Which were fantastic IMO (for their time). But really Holmes was more of an anti-authoritarian, arrogant, fun-loving eclectic. Holmes was really never afraid to get his hands dirty, and did what had to be done, whether to solve a case, or just prove he was right about something... And poor Watson had to deal with him more than anyone.

Also, he was an opium addict. Fun trivia.

I don't really like Sherlock Holmes, but I will watch this movie. It looks bad ass and interesting at the same time. Kudos to RDJ reviving his career with Ironman to make even more good movies.

This movie is actually based on a graphic novel by Lionel Wigram of the same name, which I think is great they are adapting a non-canon Holmes story... While many solid Holmes fans hate non-canon, at least this way, this movie doesn't step on their toes.

Movie looks like another piece of $hit from Richie. I wonder which one of the characters in this movie has a f'd up accent that you can't understand. Plus it doesn't look like Richie read any of the sherlock holmes books. He just took the characters & added a whole bunch of action scenes. I'm a big fan of holmes and this looks like it's going to ruin Doyle's AMAZING stories.
