Once Civil War drops I'll have to give it to good ole' Cap.

My favourite...

The Blade Trilogy. Followed by the Dark Knight Trilogy and Iron Man (They're pretty much tied)

Captain America has a good chance at taking the top spot if Civil War is as epic as I hope it is.

Worst trilogy... Raimi's Spider-Man.

@MercwithMouth

I'm sorry, but you are delusional if you think TDK and Iron Man are "pretty much tied"
LEVITIKUZ
LEVITIKUZ - 3/3/2015, 7:45 AM
It's The Dark Knight Trilogy. No debate.

Iron Man Trilogy = 3 out of the 4 villain Iron Man had (Stane, Killian, and Hammer) were all [frick]ing rich ass businessmen. Does Iron Man have no other villains to fight who aren't white, wealthy businessmen?

X-Men Trilogy = Well let's just say the only good part of Last Stand was Beast and the rest of the film. Egh.

Spider-Man Trilogy = I actually think Spider-Man 3 gets too much hate. First off I would say both Spider-Man 1 and 2 are just as good as Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. I will say Spider-Man 3's problems lie with Venom. No Venom, no convenient alien ooze landing near Peter, no emo Peter, no 2 dance scenes, no Topher Grace, no Venom, more development for Sandman. But still Rises beats Spider-Man 3.

LEVITIKUZ
LEVITIKUZ - 3/3/2015, 7:46 AM
Damn @MercwithMouth I forgot Blade.

Blade Trilogy = I like 1. Think 2 is the best but damn did Trinity suck. Trinity was so terrible, it was said at one point during production Wesley Snipes was trying to kill David S Goyer.

Raimi's Spider-Man, sure Spider-Man 3 didn't quite deliver like it could have but I've always thought the third film is usually the hardest to deliver on in terms of a satisfying conclusion.

Best Trilogy... Captain America no doubt about it.

Worst trilogy... Raimi's Spider-Man.
on par with 3 Ninjas.

TDK
.
.
Spider-Man
Blade
X-Men
Ironman

Ironman 2 and 3 were so bad in my opinion. Especially 3.

@dannramm113

I am delusional. But notice nothing in my comments says "best". My comments say "my favourites". It's my personal opinion.

But here, let me break it down for you.

Batman Begins and Iron Man 2 for me are on the same level. I wasn't much of a fan of either one.

The Dark Knight and Iron Man were pretty equal for me, with Ledger's performance making Dark Knight a bit of a stand out.

The Dark Knight Rises and Iron Man 3 are my respective favourites from each trilogy. But Kingsley's and Pearce's performances slightly top Tom Hardy's for me, so Iron Man 3 gets the nod.

You don't like it? Go write another editorial about how your opinions on movies are the word of law.

@LEVITIKUZ

I actually liked Blade Trinity. It wasn't on the same level as 1 or 2, but it was fun. Reynolds was great comic relief to lighten up Snipes's laziness, Biel was sexy as ever, and I really like Purcell as Drake. Even arker Posey was entertaining.

Pathogen

Dark Knight easily, for me.
Then I suppose a tie with cap and iron man
I liked the last 2 spidermen, but well, no trilogy.
Xmen is probably one of my least favorite. My wife sees it on tv and changes the channel to it just to see the look of disgust come on my face haha

Sorry bro...couldn't stand it. Tobey, Kirsten and Franco were all awful, and the villains, save for Dafoe, were terrible. The action was pretty good throughout though.

For me

Captain America Series - Loved both films and 3rd looks to be epic
Blade Trilogy - Even though 3rd movie was pretty bad
Dark Knight Trilogy - Even though I really didn't like Rises

I'm just gonna say, if Hellboy 3 ever happened, I do think it could be up there with TDKT especially if it ends with Hellboy's death which I always felt that if del Toro did a Hellboy 3, he would have Hellboy sacrificing himself.

Also Hellboy died in the comics so Hellboy's death wouldn't be anything not done in the comics.

BruceWayneNewton - 3/3/2015, 8:00 AM
I have a hard time believing anybody could say it wasn't TDK series. Captain America will be right there with it after Civil War. Already those 2 franchises have 5 of the top 10 CBM of all time.
MercwithMouth
MercwithMouth - 3/3/2015, 8:03 AM
@LEVITIKUZ

Hellboy 3 is a dream for guys like me and you. Both movies are ridiculously underrated. Hellboy 2 wasn't quite as good as the first one, but my man Luke Goss absolutely killed it as Nuada. (Fun fact, Goss played my favourite CBM villain of all-time, Nomak. Although I'm certain you know that)
Supes17
Supes17 - 3/3/2015, 8:06 AM
Captain America 1 was so lame it kind of drags the trilogy down. Hopefully Civil War will be enough to skyrocket it way past the Iron Man trilogy.

But seriously, there is no debate here... The TDK trilogy easily wins. Two of the 3 films grossed more than $1 billion and the second installment is the most critically acclaimed and respected superhero film of all time. 8 Oscar nominations and people actually complaining and petitioning bc it didn't get nominated for Best Picture. It is part of the reason why the Oscars nominate more films than they used to.
The only trilogy or (or quadrology to be exact) that I see with the potential of beating the TDK trilogy is the Avengers series.
GhostDog
GhostDog - 3/3/2015, 8:07 AM
It's obviously TDK TRILOGY. It's hard to argue against. CAPTAIN AMERICA series could be a close second if civil war is amazing. ..it prob will be . As of now

TDK
XMEM
SPIDERMAN
BLADE
IRON MAN

This really isn't worth debate, no offense to the podcast

@MercwithMouth

I do think Hellboy 3 is possible. Universal owns Hellboy's rights. Legendary is with Universal and the President of Legendary has said he would like to see Hellboy 3 and has a good relationship with del Toro being that Legendary split the budget of Pacific Rim with WB 50/50 which del Toro directed. Del Toro has said he has a script ready for it and all he needs is a studio willing to let him do it. He's got Mignola, Perlman, Blair, Jones, and Tambor wanting to do Hellboy 3.

I think it could end up happening someday. I mean hell, who thought Deadpool would actually be happening?
MercwithMouth
MercwithMouth - 3/3/2015, 8:10 AM
I love the people saying that this isn't up for debate. We are people that will debate the quality of a movie based on it's lead actor's hair colour. Yet, which trilogy is the best isn't up for debate?
blackandyellow
blackandyellow - 3/3/2015, 8:11 AM
It's obviously the House Party trilogy.

LEVITIKUZ
LEVITIKUZ - 3/3/2015, 8:11 AM
Also I think with Hellboy 2, I see the first 2 Hellboys like I see Burton's Batman films.

I think the first is great. Second film isn't as good but still good, well made, and a lot of fun.
MercwithMouth
MercwithMouth - 3/3/2015, 8:12 AM

I will definitely defer to you on all things Hellboy. So I will just say, I [frick]ing hope so. Love the Hellboy movies.

Original Superman,third film is a bit bobbins but the first two nail it for me.
Nolans Batman then Blade,same again,both with the weak last film IMO.

I don't think there has been a perfect CBM trilogy yet.
MercwithMouth

I have to say, I'm overjoyed how low you put the Dark Knight trilogy. I don't agree, but that should rustle some serious jimmies!

LEVITIKUZ
LEVITIKUZ - 3/3/2015, 8:18 AM
@MercwithMouth

Yea I try to keep up with what I hear about Hellboy 3. The only reason Hellboy 2 got made was because of all the acclaim and Oscar nominations and some wins from Pan's Labyrinth which del Toro directed and was able to convince Universal to do Hellboy 2 but they told him while making it they would not do a third Hellboy film no matter what.

Really what inspired Hellboy 3 to seem possible was the Make A Wish kid who Perlman visited dressed up as Hellboy and it inspired del Toro to try again with Hellboy 3. Del Toro wants a 120 million dollar budget and no studio wants to give him that.

The biggest problem with the 2 Hellboy films were the releases. Hellboy 1 came out a month after Passion of the Christ and around Easter. Hellboy 2 came out a week before The Dark Knight. You can't expect Hellboy to do well putting him against Jesus and Batman!

#1 Captain America
