Duke Nukem Forever has been verified by 2K Games through Twitter. The game, which has been announced for release numerous times, was demonstrated at PAX 2010 where the publisher also officially announced 2011 as the release date for the first-person shooter game. This sequel to
Duke Nukem 3D has been in the development stages since 1997, but the title has now been taken over by US developer Gearbox Software. The first Duke Nukem game was released in 1991.
TechTree.com quote Christoph Hartmann, President of 2K:
"All great things take time... a lot of time. After a hiatus from the video game world, Duke Nukem is back and better than ever. The return of the King from the glory days of shooters will satisfy our patient, die-hard fans, as well as a new generation of bubble gum-chewing, flat top and shades-wearing bad-asses. Make no mistake about it - Duke Nukem Forever is a testament to the era of when shooters were bodacious and fun."

6of13: Apparently, although I
cannot confirm it, Duke Nukem is a comic book, with publications somewhere in Mexico.
