Which comic book character should Dwayne Johnson play?

Which comic book character should Dwayne Johnson play?

Which hero or villain should the Rock play?

Let's face it. The Rock is going to be in a Marvel or DC at some point. The question is, which one should he play? He's been wanting to play Black Adam and he recently said he may be Lobo. I'll put, in order from best to worst, the role he should take on. If he dosen't fit the role, I'll select the actor I think would do good in the role.

1.Black Adam

This is the perfect character for Dwayne to play. He was to play the part in the Shazam movie, which was cancelled and it may stay that way. Despite this, he wants to play Black Adam, and no one disagrees. Funny how the role he wants the most is in the movie that shows no signs of getting made.

2. Namor

I actually put him in this role for my Avengers 2 fan cast. But I did have a reason. Namor dose bear somewhat of a resemblence to Black Adam, which Dwayne is perfect for. He can certainly pull off Namor's personality. This one may get made, but not in Marvel's Phase 2.

3.Apocalypse

Not to long ago, a rumor surfaced that he was up for a role in a X Men film. Being good friends with Hugh Jackman, that's not suprising. Michael Clark Duncan has been a fan favourtie for the role, but he's no longer with us. Dwayne is a good choice for Apocalypse for his ego alone.

4.Captain Marvel

This is one role he may never get, seeing as how Shazam is getting nowhere. He actually expressed interest in both Adam and Captain Marvel. I wouldn't say no if he was casted, but I pefer Daniel Cudmore for the part. Mainy because he shares a few similarites with Dwayne: They're good actors, neither work for a large paycheck and around six feet. A perfect match in my opinion.

5.Martian Manhunter

To be honest, I never considered him for this role at all. He has the look and he can fight well on camera, but the voice is a bit off. I would consider Laurence Fishburne, Djimon Hounsou, or Doug Jones for this role. Or have the last two play the Manhunter and let Fishburne do the voice.

6.Luke Cage

I think it goes without saying not a lot of people want him in this role. He has the build and the attitude, but there's one big factor going against him getting the role: he's not black. This is another role he expressed interest in. I would honestly consider Henry Simmons or Terry Crews for Cage.

7.Lobo

Out of all the roles, this one is one I can't see him in period. He may have the attitude, but that's it. However, he recently confirmed he was involved with the Lobo film. I don't think it'll work at all. There's been a number of actors considered, the top being choices Mickey Rourke, Kevin Durand, and Jeffery Dean Morgan. I'm good with any of them. Just as long as it gets an R rating.

Well, that's the charcters he should play and the order I think fit's him best. Let me know what you all think.

I would say either Black Adam or Apocalypse. He definitely has the ego, like you said, to play Apocalypse. And it seems like Black Adam was tailor-made for him. My first choice would be Black Adam, but I wouldn't be too upset if he was Apocalypse.

Why Black Adam? Skin tone and musculature?
Considering his roles and the way he invests in them, the only choice I'd go with would be Captain Marvel.

He'd be perfect as Black Adam. I'd love to see him as Luke Cage at some point too.

As for Lobo, I think he would be good. Not my first choice, but you can certainly do much worse.

Namor would be perfect for The Rock.

I just want to see him play a villian for once instead of being the tough hero he is in films, maybe he can loosen up with his acting and delve into having more fun playing the bad guy.

Hes been rumored for years and has stated himself hed like to play Black Adam, i say let him.

He should be Luke Cage if they ever make a movie starring him. And actually, his Dad's black so he IS black. He honestly could pass as several different races IMO.

I mean honestly, he's my choice for Luke Cage. Think about it:

The Rock = Serious Talent
The Rock = Meaty Role
The Rock = $$$$BOX OFFICE$$$$

No way on Apocalypse, Capt Marvel and a huge NO to Namor.
Maybe on Cage and MM.
Yes on either Lobo or Black Adam!! Prefer the latter.

I think he would be fine as PRIME from Malibu Comics. Prime is an obscure enough hero that it wouldn't make the mobs of angry militant fanatical basement dwelling fanboys come out of hiding to riot.

Prime is really a thirteen year-old boy named Kevin Green with the power to transform into a super-powered adult. In this sense, he is much like the Golden Age Captain Marvel. Like the Modern Age version of Captain Marvel, Kevin retains the thoughts, memories and consciousness of his thirteen year-old self as Prime. This is a chief source of conflict for the character as he is frequently placed in adult situations and circumstances he may not be mature enough to deal with.

Marvel producer Avi Arad announced in 2002 that production was to begin on Prime as a motion picture adaptation of their comic book property. A finalized script currently exists, written by the team of Don Calame and Chris Conroy. Arad had this to say about the project "Prime is a complete departure from the standard super hero story. With this film we are developing what we think will be Marvel's first super hero action-comedy."

Or, Savage Dragon...

'nuff said.

I like the savage dragon idea, it's kinda outside the box. I wouldnt mind seeing him as gladiator. Even Beta Ray Bill would be nice, rock giving it to Hemsworth would work good on screen. These are all character that truthfully might never make to the big screen, but having the Rock attached would help sell them.
