The Dark Horse comic R.I.P.D. is adapted by Universal Pictures with this fantasy crime film focusing on a newly deceased cop (Ryan Reynolds) who's drafted into a squad of zombie cops that battle the supernatural. Red's Robert Schwentke directs, with Jeff Bridges co-starring as his partner and Kevin Bacon playing the villain.


R.I.P.D also stars Kevin Bacon, James Hong, Marisa Miller, Mary-Louise Parker, and Stephanie Szostak and hits theaters July 19th 2013.

When I read Low-Res I thought it would be a really crappy quality, but this is pretty good.

The poster give me a Men In Black vibe.

Yeah, this seems to have flop written all over it.

Ryan Renolds, assuming this does flop, just can't catch a break recently, which would be a shame as I can see potential.

that typeface is utterly appalling. looks like the grid-paper lettering i'd do in sixth grade.

as for the movie... could go either way. i didn't read the books, so i'll wait for more info. is the story any good?

I love Jeff Bridges, so I'm actually kinda excited to see the trailer for this.

I actually CANNOT wait for this movie! There's been so little about it since the set photos last year. It's great to see it making an appearance between some of this years big offerings. Just need a trailer to settle all of the negativity.

Despite people's reservation, Reynolds is a class act. Liked him in 'Safehouse', 'Buried', 'Smokin Aces' and Green Lantern (despite shitty writing and directing).

Add Bridges into that equation and that's a quality leading team. Should be as good as Smith and Lee-Jones when MIB first landed years back. He's one of my favourite actors of recent times.

Bacon's in as the Villain and he did a great job on bad guy duties as Shaw in 'First Class'.

I thinks it's gonna be a sleeper hit. And if it falls just short, it's gonna be a good slice of action pie with some talent in the forefront.

i actually really hope this does well. Reynolds is actually really good if given the right script. Watch Buried if you don't mind crappy endings and also he was good in Definitely, Maybe. Jeff Bridges is always great and the concept is great because it is basically a supernatural MIB. I can see a lot of potential for some cool looking effects and creatures.

Because Fox wasn't ready to go ahead with Deadpool, WB wasn't moving on the Green Lantern sequel, and they offered Reynolds the job.

Kind of a no-brainer to me.

@ Geektality easily my friend, by the actors or actor in this case and by his track record with films and cbm. Besides i dont really think there is a impressive amount of buzz around this to really suggest otherwise.
