Zach Galifianakis Forced To Drop Out Of R.I.P.D.!

The star of The Hangover and Due Date has had to pull out of the movie due to scheduling issue and the fact that Warner Bros might want to start production on a Green Lantern sequel...

Here is a brief excerpt from the report over at Deadline.

Zach Galifianakis is withdrawing from starring with Ryan Reynolds in the Universal Pictures supernatural comedy R.I.P.D., which Robert Schwentke will direct. Galifianakis liked the project just fine--it's about a force of undead police officers based on the Peter Lenkov comic--but scheduling just got too hairy...But there was no certainty whether those plans would fit in because Warner Bros has an option on Reynolds, who might be obliged to do a sequel to Green Lantern quickly.

Stay tuned for more updates and details on the movie (possibly set to be released either in 2012 or 2013) as we have them!

Too bad. I really like Zach Galifinakis, he has a unique brand of humor.

But damn what a difficult last name he has, LOL

Hangover 2 looks awesome but I agree, Deadpool would be epic.

You know I hate to wish bad luck on anyone or anything, but I hope that Zack's departure from this puts it further on the back burner, that way, Reynold's schedule can clear up so he can shoot Deadpool.

Fu*k reynolds, people. Keep him with GL.

DANE COOKE FOR DEADPOOL!!!

The guy is just as funny AND would be a great replacement for Reynolds.

ok so Ryan Reynolds is doing GL 2, get Bradley Cooper. any other problems for me to solve?

@sober- True, Bradley Cooper would be great for the role...but i don't know I think Dane Cooke would be good too. You and I seem like the only ones who aren't just clinging to Reynolds as the only contender. There are plenty of actors out there for Deadpool.

DEADPOOL. Not that.

@LP4 i agree, Reynolds has a charming humor to him, Dane cook is just F-ING crazy humor which is probably more Deadpool's speed........besides isn't a reboot or something, doesn't matter If what they say about it being correct to comics we won't even see his face due to the mask right?
soberchimera
soberchimera - 4/8/2011, 3:21 PM
@LP4 actually I was talking about Bradley Cooper replacing Reynolds for R.I.P.D, but Cooper as Deadpool could be interesting, he wasn't all that funny in The Hangover, but then again he wasn't supposed to be. I don't want Dane Cook anywhere near Deadpool though. Jim Carrey would be my number 1 replacement choice.

@ralph- I'm sorry you do not agree with me but you're acting immature. Why do you always have to threaten to slap people?

@soberchimera61- Thanks man. Ralph's a real jerk. He always threatens to slap people which proves just how immature and little he really is. He put his real picture up as his avatar once and man he's a shrimpy little guy.

But yeah thanks a lot man. But yeah, if Reynolds can't do Deadpool, then Carrey could be cool. I hope he can still do all the flips and stunts though as Deadpool :P

If you ignore the troll it will eventually go away.

And by the way, I like Galifianakis because he's from the same county as me.

@ironknight- Haha true! Ralphmouth loves picking fights without really contributing anything to the conversations. I mean damn...at least debate in a respectful manner.

I think Deadpool will be great...the character is bigger than Reynolds himself. If he can't balance doing both GL and Deadpool I wouldn't want him to just ditch GL...that franchise is looking really epic. They could always start out fresh for Deadpool by bringing in a new actor. It happens all the time anyway...lol.

@ralphmouth- Also go back to playing with your barbie dolls, little boy.

Aren't you able to get in trouble for threatening other people on here?

Now to talk about Galafinakis. I love this guy he is hilarious. Without Zack the Hangover wouldn't have been funny. Too bad he left this cuz I'll watch anything with him in it.

I hope Ralph gets banned from this site. Threats are pretty bad.

Thanks for the support man!

So I guess Warner Bros are just assuming that Green Lantern is gonna be good, just because it looks good doesn't mean its gonna be. And all you guys saying that Dane Cook would make a good Deadpool, are you [frick]ing kidding me? that guys is lame as shit and he isn't remotely funny.

hatrick3 - 4/9/2011, 7:05 AM
Gilifianakis is a putz. Wouldn't work with Mel Gibson because of some things he said but no problem working with convicted rapist Mike Tyson. Wish he'd just go away.
JatevinM
JatevinM - 4/9/2011, 11:06 AM
LP4@ Dane Cook is by no means funny at all. Let Bradley Cooper take over Reynolds role in R.I.P.D so that leaves him open for GL and Deadpool. Ryan Reynolds is basically Deadpool personified. If I had to pick someone to replace Reynolds as Deadpool it would either be Sean William Scott, or Jason Lee.

I do want to see a Deadpool movie, but I also want to see another GL film. Why can't they have him work on both of them? It's good for him because he'll get paid even more and we get rewarded with 2 awesome movies! Sounds unbelievable, but it could happen hopefully...
