DreamWorks Animation, Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment have released the official trailer for the eagerly awaited third season of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, which is set to return exclusively on Netflix with ten brand new episodes on May 21.
The season synopsis reads, "Still stranded on the island, the campers uncover more details of Dr. Wu’s secret research, and must quickly take their fate into their own hands with a dangerous plan to leave Isla Nublar behind for good. But when a tropical storm delays their departure, a lethal new threat quickly closes in on the campers, placing their escape, as well as their lives, in extreme peril."
That aforementioned secret research undoubtedly alludes to the mysterious hybrid - E750 - that was accidentally awoken during the closing moments of season two, and, if the Twitter leaks are to be believed, the extremely aggressive hybrid, which we catch a glimpse of at the tail-end of the new trailer, will be known as Scorpius Rex.
While Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow has already said that his upcoming Dominion won't feature any hybrids, he has also previously teased that the events of this season of Camp Cretaceous will very likely inform and connect to his hotly-awaited threequel in some way.
The main cast of Paul-Mikél Williams (Westworld), Jenna Ortega (You), Ryan Potter (Titans), Raini Rodriguez (Austin & Ally), Sean Giambrone (The Goldbergs), and Kausar Mohammed (Silicon Valley) will all return to voice their respective roles. It's unknown at this point, but Jameela Jamil (The Good Place) and Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick) could also return.
