GODZILLA VS. KONG Toys Reveal Our Best Look At [SPOILER] To Date

Some new toys for Godzilla vs. Kong have been revealed, and offer us our best look to date at the movie's "secret" cameo. It's fair to say this Titan will look nothing short of amazing on screen...

Godzilla vs. Kong hits HBO Max (and select theaters) on March 31st, but one of the movie's biggest surprises has been common knowledge for a while now. Mechagodzilla will be part of this crossover event, and while we don't know how the Titan will factor into the plot, our best look at the robotic Kaiju to date has come our way courtesy of some upcoming toys.

Thanks to a Funko Pop and 11-inch action figure, we see Mechagodzilla in all his mechanical glory.

There's seemingly no organic material at all here, and the fact that a skyscraper-sized robot capable of battling Godzilla and Kong has been created in this movie indicates that the franchise is about to embrace its sci-fi roots in a big way (a major change to the grounded tone of 2014's Godzilla).

The cast of Godzilla vs. Kong includes Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Eiza González, Julian Dennison, Kyle Chandler, and Demián Bichir. It's set to be released on March 31st in the U.S., though it's simply "Coming Soon" in countries where theaters remain closed (it has been dated for March 26th in a handful of locations).

Hope MechaGodzilla isn't...over-designed if that makes sense.
Every giant robot in Hollywood seems to be designed with like a million moving parts 😂😂
I say every giant robot, but guess I have the transformers designs on the brain

@LittleSween - really how are they going to even explain it. The movies have been pretty grounded up to this point. Going to be weird if its going to be moving like its made from pacific rim tech

@dracula - Not sure they thought that far ahead truth be told. Godzilla has got a vast rogues gallery, but in all honesty, it's only really Mothra, Rodan, Ghidorah and MechaG that are really worth it.
I agree though, especially as the Mecha stuff was sooooooooo out there in the originals.

Kong might be a king, but Godzilla is a god.

He looks like he has a hunch.

Hopefully that isn’t always the case when he see him fight Kong and G.

He looks good though!

Such a far cry from 2014 Godzilla, which is still my favorite.
Don't get me wrong, I do think there's a place for lighter toned, action-oriented kaiju movies. I just wish that they were separate and not the sucessors of that movie, because they kind of undermine the tone and vibe that Gareth Edwards was going for.

Why are these toys only 6 inches tall? Go big or go home.

@Chewtoy - they have 11" ones too, but they are hard to find, I wanted to get my son both a godzilla and kong for his birthday but they are sold out everywhere. It sucks

I kind of wish they went with the villainous Godzilla and grounded tone that was implied by the 2014 movie trailer

@ThankMeLater - I liked it a lot, despite the minor frustration with Godzilla’s limited screen time.

I just hope they don't kill all other monsters off screen by narrating during opening sequence that Godzilla did it (having actually MechaG done it just to blame Godzilla). With only skullcrawlers and warbats shown in merch. and trailers, that will probably be shown only during Skull island first act stuff, it just might be true :(
