Emilia Clarke & Matt Smith Open Fire On New TERMINATOR: GENISYS Images
Yesterday we got our first official look at some of the characters from Terminator: Genisys, and the images were met with almost as much ridicule as that title. Well, these latest snaps of Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor and Matt Smith as (??) probably won't do much to alter the general consensus..
Hmm. Game Of Thrones' Emilia Clarke and Doctor Who's Matt Smith there playing Laser Tag in their Halloween costumes. These pics come the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, and are not actually official movie stills...so maybe we'll give Paramount the benefit of the doubt? Then again, there are these newly revealed plot details:
"Twist No. 1? Sarah Connor isn’t the innocent she was when Linda Hamilton first sported feathered hair and acid-washed jeans in the role. Nor is she Hamilton’s steely zero body-fat warrior in 1991’s T2. Rather, the mother of humanity’s messiah was orphaned by a Terminator at age 9. Since then, she’s been raised by (brace yourself) Schwarzenegger’s Terminator—an older T-800 she calls “Pops”—who is programmed to guard rather than to kill. As a result, Sarah is a highly trained antisocial recluse who’s great with a sniper rifle but not so skilled at the nuances of human emotion."
It's clear they're trying to take this franchise in a whole new direction, and perhaps that's more admirable than simply remaking the original James Cameron movie, but I think we're going to have to see/hear something pretty convincing soon to sway public opinion on Terminator: Genisys.
