The former
Alien prequel recently got a makeover into a completely new concept known as
Prometheus. The film will have some
Alien prequel remnants in its story.
COMINGSOON is now reporting that Charlize Theron is now officially joining Noomi Rapace (
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Michael Fassbender (
X-Men: First Class) in the Ridley Scott directed
Prometheus. Her role still has not been revealed. Also two major roles still need to be cast in the film
Here is Scott's explanation of the story details:
"While 'Alien' was indeed the jumping off point for this project, out of the creative process evolved a new, grand mythology and universe in which this original story takes place. The keen fan will recognize strands of 'Alien's' DNA, so to speak, but the ideas tackled in this film are unique, large and provocative. I couldn't be more pleased to have found the singular tale I'd been searching for, and finally return to this genre that's so close to my heart."
Ridley Scott will direct off of a script for the
Alien prequel written by Jon Spaihts with a
Prometheus revamp done by Damon Lindelof.
Prometheus hits theaters June 8, 2012
