Edgar Wright has an awful lot on his plate at the moment, he's set to start filming his new comedy The World's End soon and getting ready for Marvel's Ant-Man, which may start shooting as early as next year.

Edgar Wright has lined up yet another project. He’ll direct and co-write Collider, a science fiction film whose premise is yet to be revealed. Wright is writing the script from I Am Legend scribe Mark Protosevich.

Protosevich also wrote the recent Oldboy remake.

Presumably they’ll need to finish that up pretty quick, or else it will have to wait until Wright finishes working on The World’s End. J.J. Abrams will serve as one of the producers on the film.

This does not bode well. Edgar Wright isn't known for making films quickly, nor should he. If he's really supposed to be filming Ant-Man next year, it seems as though he should already be wrapping up his current film, which he hasn't even started yet ...

One more thing, I think Marvel should pass on Edgar Wright and go for someone with more action movie experience. Possibly, Doug Liman?

Please make Ant-Man! We need it at least by 2014!

@dezdigi All of Wright's films have had a fair amount of action in them, in the Spaced TV show, one of his first gigs, he filmed a pretty kick-ass martial arts scene, the last third of Hot Fuzz was primarily action based and although Scott Pilgrim had it's problems the fight scenes were stunning.

Wright starts shooting The World's End in a few weeks, and will shoot Ant-Man next year. This and his other projects will come after.

Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz should be claimed classics.
Specially Hot Fuzz which has one epic cast and takes action films on the next level.

But i agree he should start making the damn movies already and not comitting to more films.
