Tom Cruise stars in OBLIVION, an original and groundbreaking cinematic event from the director of TRON: Legacy and the producer of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. On a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one mans confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.

Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jacks mission is nearly complete. Living in and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.

OBLIVION was directed by Joseph Kosinski, from a screenplay written by Karl Gajdusek and Michael deBruyn. The cast includes: Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Melissa Leo. Now available on DVD & Blu-ray.

You guys are nuts. I thought Godzilla was really good! Especially at the end when he shot the nuclear breath down that monster's throat, then pulled her head off. I love that! Maybe I'm old school. I grew up watching that crap. :) Oh Well...Everyone be safe out there & have a good day.

I liked this movie better when it was called Moon.

Oblivion was a poorly paced rip-off version of Moon.

You know, I was fresh off a Norco and some bong rips. Flipping through DirecTV, & watched Oblivion. I must say I enjoyed it WAAAAY more than I expected I would. A couple gripes.. Like why TET didn't blast the shit out of Maverick when he entered her(HAH!). But it was good times... Good times

I lol'd at the Houston Texans not winning the 2017 Super Bowl bit, but then was saddened to hear him poke at the Cowboys. That [frick]er.

OFF TOPIC:

I'm new commenting here but been Lurker of the year haha. I see ALOT of people talk about how Godzilla was SHIT and "BRING ON Pacific Rim". I just sit here and think WTF goes through y'all minds..? That movie had ONE good Idris speach and the rest was high budget power rangers. I'm convinced Idris was the only actor in the movie. I LOVED Godzilla but could see why movie goers could find it boring. Espicially with Kick-Ass as lead.... But Pacific rim??? PACIFIC {FRICK}IN RIM?

Yea Kick-Ass should of got his Ass Kicked for that performance. But besides that it was an awesome disaster movie. That pulled off the Climax perfect. I seen it twice and in each theater there was an ovation for it. Find a more intriguing lead and its about as good as Godzilla "Origin" movie gets.

I don't even know where to begin. :-P

Bad joke? Bad troll? Desperation? Slight aversion to a Good Times on TV Land ad.., cuz you can? :-P Trying to subscribe humans to a pseudonym and for what/why? :-P

Good times, more like good stuff.., good stuff!

You're right. "Kickass" should cracked some jokes and discussed the whereabouts of a girl he has a crush on from Logistics whilst jumping off of and detonating Godzilla's tail.

Yeah he was way too flamboyantly played to be a bomb specialist that had something so screwed up happen to his mother and the lasting affects it had on his father. Yeah he should of been Renner from that movie that won an academy award a few years ago. :-P

@ damntree

I dunno. It seems that the one thing these three movies have in common is the word "clone". In the 6th day, Ahnold finds out about clones pretty early in the movie (at least earlier than in Moon and Oblivion. It's been a really long time since I've seen 6th so, I could be wrong). Both Moon and Oblivion have a M. Night Shamalamadingdong plot twist involving clones that alter's the course of the film due to the protagonist's views on their being cloned or being a clone (again, these movies aren't fresh in my mind). That seems like a pretty big thing to have in common and that's why I (and many others) think that they just took that Moon's twist idea and added action to make Oblivion.

Yep, a stone just sitting on camera. ATJ is not "my boy" but if this is an actual child or a man child going for hits, which you are, then keep spraying your honesty.

But yeah, he didn't pull a Sean Penn Mystic River-class crane shot breakdown, but the morning after he convinced his father to come back home with him, the drum beat slowly playing in the background of the scene worked on so many levels there. And yes, the way he teared up and just gave in to daddy Cranston was believable. Scenes like these are always glossed over, poorly written or poorly covered.

Real opinion from a real person.
