Ridley Scott's sci-fi epic, Prometheus hit cinemas this past June, and grossed an impressive $300M worldwide. And now, this October, Fox are bringing the film to Blu-ray and DVD, with boat loads of special features included. Check out the final cover art for the release (via the Weyland Investors Twitter page) down below!

In the distant future, two superpowers control Earth and fight each other for all the solar system's natural resources. When one side dispatches a team to a distant planet to terraform it for human colonization, the team discovers an indigenous race of bio-mechanoid killers. Ridley Scott, director of 'Alien' and 'Blade Runner,' returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Prometheus stars Noomi Rapace as Elizabeth Shaw, Michael Fassbender as David Guy Pearce as Stannison, Idris Elba as Captain Janek, Logan Marshall-Green as Holloway and Charlize Theron as Meredith Vickers; the film hits Blu-Ray and DVD October 9th, 2012

Scenery of the Ship taking off would've been cool, or the map that he found in the sleeping chamber would've been pretty.

Theres the sleeve art and then theres the box art. I'm sure they won't both be the same.
But even if they are, different regions get different covers, and I'm sure they'll be variations between retailers and on steelbooks as well.

I wouldn't get your tentacles twisted over it.

Like with the Avengers Blu-Ray - the director's cut will be announced as in the studio's production pipeline 6 months after we have all bought the standard version... and not a moment before. ^^

Definately want to see this movie in its entirety, with the 50 min of extra stuff, although a good movie im pretty sure it will be a more coherent film if they made it a Directors Cut.

LOL

I went into Prometheus expecting to be disappointed, and it was damn good. Very thought-provoking. To me anyways, ha. And to the ppl who whine about how "dumb" the characters are, um guess what, ppl ARE stupid. We all do stupid things all the time, and there's a ton of posts on CBM to prove it! lol

@Godzirrafart

How can you be arrogant enough to think you know the rules of biology off this planet? But that's not even the point. It's called science FICTION brainiac. Next.

@thebatdad I don't troll that's how, magic isn't it lol the only time I post mass messages on this site is when I'm defending something against other trolls. I'm not saying your one of them, just in general I mean but I notice you seem to hate a few very good movies.

I am so sick of the haters on this sight, they are basically attention whores that have been meeting their goals at the expense of those of us that get suckered into their provocations. I was scrolling down the comments and stopped at a couple of the points where others had just as good a time watching Prometheus as me. I really enjoyed Prometheus, TDKR, Avengers, Spiderman, and even some of the less memorable stuff. When I see others who enjoyed these films without so much hyper criticism, its nice to not feel so defensive about my own personal enjoyment of the film.

At least it's not a photoshop mash up of the characters... that's what they all seem to be these days. What happened to art?

I didn't hate the movie as much as some people on here, I found it to be enjoyable for what it was. But that being said, "thought-provoking" is not a phrase I would use to describe this film.

Actually, scratch that. It was thought provoking. It provoked thoughts such as "this plot makes no effing sense," and "why are all these people acting in ways that no sane, rational human being ever would?"

And yes, I can enjoy a movie even when its plot is retarded or non-sensical.
