Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.

Nice poster. It's been a pleasant surprise to see this franchise get better with each movie. Hunger Games wasn't the strongest start, but Catching Fire improved on it drastically, and Mockingjay again improved. Looking forward to Part 2.

The first two films were very entertaining, but Mockingjay Part 1 was awful.

It committed the cardinal sin of movies - it was boring. It felt like what it was: all setup, no payoff. The first two films are kinetic, dynamic, there's real tension...and the story arc goes somewhere.

Mockingjay Part 1 is mostly Katniss moping about, touring bombed districts, filming propaganda promos, getting bombed in the shelter...and then the movie just ends.

But the Mockingjay story was never meant to be viewed that way. It's part of the disturbing trend - which will continue - where studios try to make extra coin by artificially stretching out stories as much as they can. But it just hurts the stories. See Harry Potter 7, the last Twilight movies (though those would've been awful anyway), The Hobbit, etc.

Take 'The Hobbit'. Those films had a lot of issues, but the number 1 issue was that it was horrendously bloated and the films collapsed under their own weight. They were unfocused, with too many irrelevant side-plots and characters. To stretch it out, they tried really hard to connect it to the other films...with the Sauron thing, Legolas, the mayor of Laketown and his scenes, etc...when it just needed to focus on Bilbo and the Dwarves. That's it. Make the story about their adventure.

These movies are THE WORST. It sickens me that I've contributed to their massive gross because I've paid for myself and my girlfriend to go to these garbage movies. Maybe if they made it into one movie instead of 4 boring ass, lame ass movies. Phillip Seymour Hoffman probably off'd himself because he realized what a disgrace they are. If you like these movies, you should just kill yourself too.

The first movie was great, the 2nd was fine until the end...we werent really trying to kill you, but we were like 100 x over?!?! Wtf stupid, and the third was katniss bitching and crying about peeta while thousands of her people died, the one time she fired a weapon was in the trailers, and the movie sucked balls! The series has gotten really bad.

I get this feeling that CaptainMexico is't much of a fan of this series. I might be other thinking his comment though.

No, even though it's half the book it should still work as its own movie. That's the whole point. If a "Part One" movie doesn't work one its own, that's the ultimate failure. And that's what happened, it felt like half a movie. So disappointing since Catching Fire was excellent. Hope Part 2 is good.

I can see what everyone is saying when they split movies in two it waters it down. I always think of the sopranos, the series before that last was thrown in there to extend the series n that one sucked. But do we all feel the same way about justice league n infinity war???

I'm not ready for part 2 ughh. Part 2 will make up for part 1, it's the most emotional and gut wrenching part of the book.
@willyburz the series really hasn't gone bad though the last film was disappointing but part 2 (again) will make up for it, also the reason why she cared for peeta a lot is because really she can't continue on without him, just imagine your love ones are being tortured or killed just to hurt you, but eventually she picks herself up and lead on to fight the capitol.
@captainmexico ..... honestly go [frick] yourself, after that disgusting and disrespectful comment
