Godzilla to Battle Monsters in 3D

The remake of the classic horror Godzilla is coming to cinemas in 3D and will pay homage to the traditional Japanese monster...

Zennie62.com interviewed producer Brian Rogers to talk about Legendary Pictures’ forthcoming remake of Godzilla. According to Rogers, they hope to take the film in the same direction as Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. He also reveals that the plan is to keep the Japanese creature in the same vein as the original from 1954, which of course depicted the monster with atomic breath. Perhaps Rogers means that in this remake Godzilla will breathe fire. Legendary Pictures wants to play homage to the traditional Godzilla character and to make the creature and film current for a new audience. Rogers also states that Godzilla will also battle at least one other monster or monsters. Also, this remake will not follow the idea of the egg-laying "iguana" from 1998's Godzilla.

Hopefully they can go back to the root of Godzilla that made the originals so cool. Like a guy in a rubber lizard suit.

I loved the old ones. Used to watch em every Friday night as a kid. The 90s movie was abysmal.

I wonder who would win?! The Hulk or Godzilla?!

Godzilla definitely would smoke King Kong with his Atomic breath!!

@NoPurposeNaji- Totally being fecisious there bud! At least about the rubber suit deal. I hated the "iguana" look of the 98 film. It the look lost everything that made Godzilla...Godzilla! He's not a tropical creature on vacation in the big city!

@NoPurposeNaji- Nah, you're good. I agree, I'd rather have that than the Power Rangers too. It seems they've got their heads on straight with this one and will do the franchise justice.

The only one that can beat Godzilla is the Chuck.

Chuck Norris created Godzilla after urinating on an iguana proving that he can power a city with his pee.

Anymore I am never pleased to hear about a remake of a real classic. I love the original Godzilla and it's cheesy sequels. It had it's time and was wonderful.

But with all films there is that chance it will fit my personal desires closely enough to be fun. The odds suck big-time but oh well.

The old monster movies were awesome. We used to have a channel that showed them every Saturday. My favorite was always Ghidrah, the Three-Headed Monster (or Mecha-Ghidrah).

I'm all for a new Godzilla movie as long as it returns to the character's roots, and has nothing to do with the horrible-beyond-words 1998 film. I'd prefer it NOT to be 3D though. I'm so tired of that played out fad!

The Godzilla franchise was always one of my favorites. I love those films. I re-watched Final Wars for my birthday recently, that was just epic. Hopefully this new film will be good. Bring on Gigan.

I think a good bit of people will agree with me here, and say anyone that says they like the 98 American Godzilla, has just made all opinions they have from this point on irrelevant because they clearly have crap taste.

~Sweet, my idea will be like a unkown massive creature appeares out of no where and starts attacking major cities in the world and the only way to stop it is if they make a prototype witch will be mecha-godzilla to stop it, thats just my idea~

I may be one of the few who likes all of the films from the three different eras: Showa, Heisei, and Millenium, as well as the 1998 film (and more importantly the animated series that followed; that was the redemption in my eyes.) Maybe it has something to do with me growing up with the originals and the '98 film side by side. To me, it was always just Godzilla.

On another note, considering the Banno guy who made Godzilla vs. Hedorah is involved, we will probably see Deathla, which is the revamped version of Hedorah. If there's more than one other monster (besides Godzilla of course) than my money's on the Gryphon from the unused 1994 Tristar script.
