Avatar is a 2009 American epic science fiction film, is set in the mid-22nd century when humans are mining a precious mineral called unobtanium on Pandora, a lush moon of a gas giant in the Alpha Centauri star system. The expansion of the mining colony threatens the continued existence of a local tribe of Na'vi—a humanoid species indigenous to Pandora. The film's title refers to the genetically engineered Na'vi-human hybrid bodies used by a team of researchers to interact with the natives of Pandora.

After the first film was well-received by critics as well as being a commercial success, rumors surfaced that the sequel of Avatar will soon be made. Indeed it is, and below is an interview of the director himself, James Cameron, on the CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
The interview was posted in my local cinema website which is not an English language site, but of course I've translated it (Link below is still provided in case you want to check the full article using translator).
Cameron has planned to film Avatar 2 with 48 to 60 frames per second in order to decrease the effect of "strobing" that might blur the pictures in the film.
"I am pretty surprised when I see it, how clear and sharp [the pictures] were," Cameron said as cited from DigitalSpy. "If 3D is like seeing the reality through a glass window, then with the film's technique we have removed the glass of the window," he added.
The Oscar winner director has also stated that he is still working on the script, so he decided not to start the filming of Avatar 2 until the next 18 months.
"I don't have much time to complete this process," explained Cameron; who previously has stated that the Avatar sequel can be released on Christmas 2014 and 2015.
James Cameron is definitely back on the chair of the director, while words said that Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana has signed on to reprise their roles with both Stephen Lang and Sigourney Weaver have their possibilities to return as well. What do you think?
