James Cameron To Redistribute His Older Films In 3D!

James Cameron To Redistribute His Older Films In 3D!

Not too sure if this is the best way to go about promoting your own work, but James Cameron definitely has a knack for making money.

This from Cnet.com:

"Terminator 2" could be back...in 3D. Fresh from reinventing 3D filmmaking with "Avatar," James Cameron wants to go back in time to target his own back catalog and convert "Aliens" and the "Terminator" films into 3D--once he's finished adding an extra dimension to "Titanic."

Repeat, Redo, Reboot, Refranchise, Reinventing are the only words that seem to be on anybody's mind in Hollywood these days. I wouldnt mind if Cameron went back, converted his older films to 3D and released all those awesome titles on a Blu-ray 3D format for the new 3D TV that will hit later this year, but to redistribute them into Theaters is kinda crazy.

I was too young to see Alien and T2 at the movies, but if they re-release 'em in theaters, 3D or not, I'm there.

Doesn't that mean that Titanic will once again be the highest-grossing film of all time? What a letdown.

I'm not that impressed with this new 3D anyway.(Not that the old 3D was any good either) I saw Avatar in 3D at the theater but it is much better in 2D on BD on HD at home.

Star Wars 3D I would watch, I think it lends itself to 3D, it's a space epic, T2, awesome film, as is Aliens, but I don't see 3D making a big impact on them.

STAR WARS 3D i would [frick]ing watch too @ Sparrow heck yeah!

Only 3D movies that could look cool in 3D from CAMBO are ABYSS, ALIENS, the rest who cares!!!?

Though T2 would be cool too!

Their only worth buying though IF they use unused new footage!!

Or extra filmed stuff, little things put in!!!

LMAO @ TEA!!

LMAO @ Teabag & Tyler

I really think that 3D is completely overrated and I won't pay the extra money to see any movie in 3D. Cameron is being a Douchebag and needs to remove his head from sphincter then move on to something else.

lmao @ grif
im with you on that, i cant stand paying more to watch a movie at the theaters because its in 3-D, and of course every movie thats comes out in 3-D is the one they show.

@instigatorGIRL

I agree COMPLETELY! Cameron is just looking for more cash cows. I guess he wants to buy Bill Gates or something. Why put these out in 3D other than MONEY? I think AVATAR is probably the last 3D movie I will pay 4 extra bucks for.

I hope he fails hard on this. It may seem mean but it needs to happen to save James Cameron from himself. Well to save his "good" movies at least.

I think everyone who has a negative thing to say about James Cameron is extremely foolish. The man has made 9 movies in 30 years 7 of which are american classics! He holds more records than you can name and has recieved countless awards and yet you still talk s***!!! Stop being negative for the sake of being negative and admit that the man is a shear genius! Not only does he Direct these movies he also writes and edits them. He knows everyone's job on the set better than they do!!! I mean come on, he came up with the idea for the Terminator by having a dream!! And at that time he was living out of his car!!!

Shaman - 5/5/2010, 5:51 AM
Minotauro- Actually, its more supposed to look like Gally played by Ellen Page. Not supposed to look exactly 100% like Ellen. There are different faces to Ellen Page. She doesn't always look exactly the same in every pic. It depends on her expression, hair style/color and make-up. Sometimes she looks like Shannon Doherty and sometimes she looks like Eliza Dushku. I think my portrait looks pretty similar to the picture i based my sketch on:

@InstigatorJohn - You really believe that source?

Is it now days that everyone feels the need to reach out with some poor attempt at a lawsuit because they believe specifically that it's James Cameron who plagiarized there work?..

I wonder how irrelevant the Outer Limits show is, compared to the Terminator movies?.. Most likely alot.. And it's funny that the Outer Limits is the exact same show as the Twilight Zone.. Lol, can't make that up. :P

@Shaman - Oh, Well I couldn't tell at first so,

@minotauro

To be fair at least InterestingJohn has a source. So far i have seen now source backing the idea that James Cameron had a dream about terminator. I agree with john on this one, James Cameron=unoriginal, sad, greedy little man.

@ oscuro agree with you 100% porn should be done first, boobs in 3-d can't f***ing wait.

james cameron is a money grabbing prick, his films are very good terminator, terminator 2 judgement day, aliens, true lies, the abyss & avatar.but he does come across a bit of a prick.
Minotauro
Minotauro - 5/5/2010, 12:21 PM
@John - Actually Twilight Zone had themes of Science Fiction in it, which makes the Outer Limits the same doesn't it?..

Cameron ain't no genius?.. Probably not, Pioneer? Yes. If it wasn't for his effort and imagination Comic Book fans wouldn't be enjoying there films now a days now would they.. ;P

Newbe - James Cameron = Unoriginal, sad, greedy, little man + who got somewhere IN LIFE by actually trying to follow his vision to create movies for people who don't over rationalize.. :)

See what I did there?..
