Jman and Johnny Love Movie Review: AVATAR

'Avatar' is a MUST see in 3-D!!!

Wow, that's all I can say. James Cameron has done it yet again. James has successfully brought back the Sci-Fi genre of films back and in an adult and 3-D friendly BIG way!

Honorable mention definitely goes to Sigourney Weaver, 'The Sci-Fi Queen'! You have to go see 'Avatar' in 3-D! The story was a little predictable but what isn't these days?

Don't sell yourself short, at least try watching 'Avatar' in 3-D at least once. If the 'Avatar' 3-D movie experience does not ring your bell then stick with 2-D, but 3-D is definitely the way it is going.

Many thanks to the Portage 16 IMAX Theater and their great staff of hardworking folks!

This has been a MarkMade Production.

I just ran accross this quote from Steven Spielberg who called "Avatar" "the most evocative and amazing science-fiction movie since 'Star Wars.'"

That's a pretty good 'attaboy!'

@jman1977:So you guys think this is better than Star Trek? Interesting. I haven't seen Avatar yet(want to), but I consider Star Trek to be the best movie of the year so far. But if this one blew you guys away more than Trek then this pumps me up even more.

Thanks.

Nice review Jman

I'm going tomorrow morning. I'll let you know what I think. Maybe next time I'll be able to make the review ;)

shibazz ahhahahahahh

I don't think he meant anything by that other than the US government has a history of fking indigenous peoples out of their land. But I got your back sista! How'd the indo and whiskey combo treat you?

Hope so Billy, I think we will be able to work something out for sure. We have time.

Shibizz, Billy said it perfectly about what John meant by the blah blah part. Meaning that side of the story has been played out a little bit. Nothing against your beautiful Native American Heritage at all, my hat is tipped to you:)

Thanks Welcomemat and Airbeyonder, you really have to see it to belive it!

I felt very strange being attracted to an animated blue cat lady thing...but I was:)

@BillyBlack- It was a Recipe for Success!!! How bout you?

@JMan- I get what was trying to be said... It just sounded very ignorant and unaffected.

@JerusalemJr- Thanks for the blanket ... and in the spirit of ChristMas I would like to give you this Oven (cough) ahem, Chamber ... i mean, well ya know what i mean. Hee Hee Its all good

as long as JohnnyLove never refers to my history in that flippantly apathetic way again.

Oh by the way Its my Fathers Bday today. He was born on a Reservation a long time ago under the sun with the grass on his back and only his parents there to greet him. He fought in World War 2 and was a master mechanic at the age of 16 on a Air Craft Carrier. He watched the Peace Treaty Signing from a Flight Deck. He was on the only Air Craft Carrier to ever be sunk and he swam shark infested waters to another Destroyer and finished the fight. He was the First of 7 Children And now He has over 20 Great Grandchildren. Over 60 Grand Children and 7 Children. He is the Patriarch of my Family and a Great Man who shares a smile and a laugh with all he meets. He was pretty old when he concieved and my momma was hot as Hell. And still i was not the last. My Middle Name is Running Stream and i am honored to Be my Fathers Child. A-Ho (that is how you say amen in some native dialects) :)

Go see this movie cuz this story is not old enough, obviously... Johnny Love.

Thanks for the kind words Jman. Its all in good fun :)

and where the heck are the pics of the Navi boobs at?! That Alien was sooooo hot!

MovieReviewer
MovieReviewer - 12/18/2009, 6:41 PM
You must be kidding me with reviews like this. The CGI and 3d special effects were the only redeeming factor and could hardly distract from the Anti-American propaganda so blatantly obvious in spite of attempts to disguise it with otherwise amazing technical effects.

Give me a break. An American soldier crippled from a previous unjust war is losing his faith in his country. A war-mongering American Colonel being controlled by a greedy corporate businessman attempt to steal the resources of what at first appear to be indigenous savages. The crippled soldier is genetically implanted into an alien Avatar body so he can infiltate their race. To his surprise they aren't savages, they are actually peace-loving, tree-hugging religious beings. The Americans refuse to accept the scientific evidence of the scientists and launch an attack against the aliens and begin killing the alien mothers carrying their babies to safety and try to blow up their most important religious icons and destory the environment. The protaganist turns conscientious objector and committing treason decides to help the natives defeat the evil American baby-killing greedy Americans. He becomes the hero and falls in love with the native princess. bla bla bla bla bla.

Great special effects. VERY thinly veiled Hate-America-First typical Hollywood liberal propaganda.

Didn't see it in 3D, but really enjoyed it, a lot! It's deffinitely a must see, maybe not quite movie of the decade, but in the top ten. Worth the money, and that's saying something.

Avatar is simply stunning! A must see if you love visuals. Way too much eye candy to mention here, I was absolutely floored! James Cameron is definitely into the plight of native peoples and the story really didn't have anything different to say, but that didn't matter!
