BOX OFFICE: JURASSIC WORLD Takes Yet Another Of THE AVENGERS' Records
It looks like Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is going to have to congratulate Universal Pictures and Jurassic World for a second time, because the Colin Trevorrow has now broken another significant record set by The Avengers in 2012. Which one? Read on for details...
After defeating Loki, Ultron, the Chitauri, who would have ever guessed that Earth's Mightiest Heroes would be taken down by dinosaurs? After beating The Avengers' opening weekend by debuting with $208.8 million, Jurassic World has now beaten another record held by the 2012 movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Jurassic Park follow-up is today expected to pass the $300 million mark, an amazing accomplishment in less than a week. How long did it take The Avengers? Nine days. Chances are that Star Wars: The Force Awakens will beat them both anyway!
Anyway, Jurassic World just needs to earn more than $103.1 million this weekend to top The Avengers' record for the biggest ever second weekend, but it faces stiff competition from Pixar's Inside Out, making it somewhat unlikely (a Pixar movie has never not opened at #1). Stay tuned to CBM this weekend for further updates. What are you guys planning on watching this weekend?
