JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION Leaked Blu-ray Box Art Seemingly Reveals An Extended Edition Is On The Way

While Jurassic World: Dominion already runs 146 minutes, it looks like even more dinosaur action could be on its way as a new Blu-ray listing has seemingly confirmed the existence of an extended cut.

As Jurassic World: Dominion continues its box office dominance, having grossed over $500 million to date, an early 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray listing has surfaced, seemingly revealing that an "Extended Edition" of the film will be heading our way later this year when the film arrives on home video.

This still-unannounced "Extended Edition" likely won't be confirmed by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment for a while, but there's plenty of reason to believe that the film will include a substantial amount of never-before-seen footage to further enhance director Colin Trevorrow's epic Jurassic finale.

The potential existence of a longer version of the film was first teased by scene-stealer DeWanda Wise (Kayla Watts), who revealed to Collider that more of her character's backstory would be explored in an extended cut.

She had this moment, and it’s probably gonna be in the extended cut, maybe, we’ll see, but she has this beautiful pair of brass knuckles and we have this entire backstory of this adventure that she had gone on in South Africa — [laughs] Girl, I love backstories! — where she procured these knuckles. Because a lot of Kayla has this kind of Indiana Jones, she’s been everywhere. Some of her travels are for work and she goes on them because she has to go on them, and some are just for her.

There's no telling what added footage we'll get, but it's a safe bet that we'll get longer versions of some of the dinosaur encounters, including the show-stopping finale. It would also be a huge plus if Trevorrow reinserts the film's five-minute Prologue, which was sorely missed in the theatrical version.

Meanwhile, Jurassic World: Dominion is projected to have a pretty solid second weekend with approximately $53 million to $61 million in its second outing, which would be about a 58% drop and on par with similar big-budget blockbusters.

Check out the leaked cover art below:

In our review, we said "Jurassic World: Dominion is pure dinosaur mayhem at its finest, 100% fueled by nostalgia and amplified by epic dinosaur action, making it one of the more fun films of the summer. Due to a so-so story, enjoyment will likely heavily depend on your investment in the series, but if you’re looking for two hours of chaotic entertainment, then this is definitely the film for you."

The star-studded cast of the Jurassic World: Dominion features Jurassic alums Chris Pratt (Owen Grady), Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire Dearing), 3x Golden Globe-nominee Sam Neill (Alan Grant), Academy Award-winner Laura Dern (Ellie Sattler), Academy Award-nominee Jeff Goldblum (Ian Malcolm), BD Wong (Dr. Henry Wu), Omar Sy (Barry Sembane), Justice Smith (Franklin Webb), Daniella Pineda (Zia Rodriguez), and Isabella Sermon (Maisie Lockwood).

Newcomers to the franchise include DeWanda Wise (She's Gotta Have It) as Kayla Watts, Mamoudou Athie (Sorry for Your Loss) as Ramsay Cole, Campbell Scott (The Amazing Spider-Man) as Dr. Lewis Dodgson, Scott Haze (Venom) as Rainn Delacourt, Dichen Lachman (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) as Soyona Santos, Kristoffer Polaha (Wonder Woman 1984) as Wyatt Huntley, Elva Trill (Starstruck) as Charlotte Lockwood, Dimitri Thivalos in an undisclosed role, and Varada Sethu (Now You See Me 2) as Shira.

Jurassic World: Dominion roars into theaters June 10!

This summer, experience the epic conclusion to the Jurassic era as two generations unite for the first time. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are joined by Oscar®-winner Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill in Jurassic World Dominion, a bold, timely and breathtaking new adventure that spans the globe. From Jurassic World architect and director Colin Trevorrow, Dominion takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now live—and hunt—alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures.

I just saw it two days ago. Had to be the first time seeing a Jurassic Park flick in theaters since the third film back in the 2000s. Dominion was pretty basic but not terrible. I just don't know where else they could go within this franchise? Human/Dinosaur hybrids perhaps?

The joker comment made by Trevorrow was dumb since Giganotosaurus was just a regular animal. If anything, both Indos were more of a joker than Giga.

@MCUKnight11 - That will never make sense to me. That [frick]er does nothing, it doesn't kill anyone, it doesn't figure into the plot in any way. I don't even know why it was there besides they needed a final battle to happen.

@MUTO123 - At least it looked cool. Definitely getting a toy of Giga.

@MCUKnight11 - I mean if he’s referring to the Jared Leto Joker, then yeah that’s a fair comparison: serves no significance to the plot and is only in the movie to attract a crowd. Oh and is a complete waste.

Am I the only one hoping DeWanda Wise gets cast as Storm in the MCU?

@MCUKnight11 - Sure. She was one of the only things about the movie I liked.

@Waddles - She's already shared the screen with Star lord, an Asgardian, Grandmaster and a potential Sue Storm or Medusa...

I don't understand how the movies are the way they are when the short films are genuinely solid.

I never understood the significance of the Giga in this movie. There was all this hype for it and everything and it really fell flat. Didn’t even do that much.

@Arthorious - It didn't even kill anyone and was only in the third act for a few minutes.

Am I the only one who enjoyed both Fallen kingdom and Dominion? Dumb but fun.

@MCUKnight11 - Nah, at this point Maverick (currently at $800 million) has higher change of hitting $1 billion.

Yeah, i doubt a lot of people care about Kayla's backstory. Its just another dino-less scene in a Dino Movie
