JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION Now Looks Set For A Mammoth $386 Million Global Opening

The latest box office updates are in, and despite a mostly negative response from critics, Universal's Jurassic World Dominion looks set for a gigantic $386 million global opening weekend...

The Jurassic World movies really have proven to be critic-proof (the previous entries in the franchise earned obscene amounts of money for Universal), and it looks like Dominion is going to continue the trend.

The "epic conclusion of the Jurassic saga" (we'll see about that) received a pretty sound bashing from the majority of critics, currently sitting as a rather dismal 31% on Rotten Tomatoes. Audiences don't seem to have paid much attention, though, because the movie is heading for a mammoth global opening.

According to the latest box office updates, the Colin Trevorrow-helmed dino-disaster flick took in $59.6 million on Friday for a projected domestic debut of $142 million, and now looks set to finish the weekend with a worldwide total of $386 million.

This will easily give Dominion the No. 1 spot, although the mighty Top Gun: Maverick continues to over-perform on its way to the $400 million mark domestically.

Thus proving that no one cares about movie reviews anymore. Lol.

I really disliked this movie. Too much going on. Action scenes just to have action scenes. The plot was dumb. Should have just started in the Dino habitat.

Once again the general audiences proving that they have no taste in anything and that often the movies/shows with a low popularity end up being far superior.

Jurassic World Dominion my party of 5 thought the movie was great and sitting on the edge of their seats.

I had so much fun with this movie I will give it 5 Stars / 5 Stars. I don't care what the critics say.

idea for the future of the franchise: international anthology series, each episode shot by a director in a different country (say South Korea, US, Australia, UK, Germany, France & Italy) about local characters dealing with dinosaurs in the wild.

I don't actively hate most movies. But I did hate this one. Jurassic Park is one of my favorite movies of all time, and Dominion seemed to be doing its damnedest to make me walk out. The dialog was amateur, the plot was contrived, the promise of a global ecological collapse brought on by dinosaurs was totally abandoned. The returning JP actors were phoning it in (especially Sam Neill) and the JW crew was as bland as ever, especially that Maisie kid.

What a waste.

I saw it last night, went in without expectations and I actually had fun watching it, specifically in the last hour of the film. Not a good movie but I'll say a decent one.
