Jada Pinkett Smith is in negotiations to reprise the role of Niobe for
The Matrix 4.
The
Gotham actress did not appear in the first film, but joined the franchise as the tough-as-nails Captain of the Logos in
The Matrix: Reloaded and
Revolutions. Her character was the love interest of Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), who
will reportedly be reintroduced with a younger actor (possibly
Aquaman's Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) in the role.
Pinkett Smith's deal has not been finalized, but we'll keep you guys updated on that front.
Lana Wachowski, who co-wrote and co-helmed the original trilogy with her sister Lilly, will return to the director's chair, while Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will also be back as Neo and Trinity, respectively.
No release date has been announced for
The Matrix 4 yet.
