THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS Star Keanu Reeves Says It "Would Be An Honor" To Join The MCU

There's been a lot of online chatter about the prospect of Keanu Reeves joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the actor has now revealed that he'd consider it "an honor" to be part of the franchise.

Fans have been hoping to see Keanu Reeves board the Marvel Cinematic Universe in some capacity ever since the actor experienced a career resurgence of sorts with the action-packed John Wick franchise, and Kevin Feige actually revealed that he did approach Reeves about a number of undisclosed roles on several different occasions in the past.

They were never able to make it work, but Reeves did reportedly come close to signing on to play Yon-Rogg in 2019's Captain Marvel before a scheduling conflict arose, and there have been rumors that he may also have been in line to play Kraven the Hunter in the villain's currently in-development solo movie.

The Matrix Resurrections star was asked about the prospect of joining the MCU during an interview with Esquire, and it sounds like he'd very much be interested should the right project/part come his way.

"It would be an honor. There's some really amazing directors and visionaries, and they're doing something that no one's really ever done," he said. "It's special in that sense, in terms of the scale, the ambition, the production. So it would be cool to be a part of that."

So, Feige wants to work with Reeves, and Reeves would like to be a part of the MCU - seems like it'll only be a matter of time before we see it happen. But who would he play? With the recent introduction of the Multiverse, this shared world has expanded in a significant way, opening the door to a whole host of new characters and scenarios.

Who would you most like to see Keanu Reeves suit-up as in the MCU? Be sure to drop us a comment down below.

Vote for Silver Surfer. That way a lot of the heavy lifting could be done with Mo cap and voice overs.

Plus Reeves unique line inflection (or lack of) might work for the surfer.

@IronGenesis - Is it wrong that i could see him as Galactus for the same reasons?

@inkniron - that would be a real mind twist.

Someone who preaches such peaceful coexistence and love to play the ultimate world destroyer.

I wonder if he would be down for a villain role at this point.
