Apparently Morgan Freeman will join Tom Cruise, Andrea Riseborough and Olga Kurylenko in Joseph Kosinski's Oblivion at Universal. Freeman is no stranger to any genre really but the last fully fledged sci-fi flick he appeared in was the appalling Steven King adaptation
Dreamcatcher. This movie focuses on the last man (Cruise) on a post-apocalyptic Earth, who stays behind to repair ships that hunt down and blast a virulent alien species. Michael Arndt is currently working on script re-writes that had earlier drafts by William Monahan and Karl Gajdusek. Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark are producing through Chernin Entertainment along with Barry Levine and Kosinski.

Morgan Freeman will play Malcolm Beech, the leader of the human resistance on Earth. So there ya go, he's not the narrator!
